Does Insanity Work for Fat People?
Does Shaun T’s Insanity work for fat people?
–Breaking news: You can now “try” Insanity FREE for 30 days with our Beachbody On Demand. You will also have access to other workouts like P90X, Insanity, TurboFire, Brazil Butt Lift, T25, 21 Day Fix Extreme, P90X One on One’s and many others. (great value)–
Fat, skinny, short or tall, you better be in some kind of shape before you even think about starting Insanity. The Insanity workout is an extreme cardio workout and it will be leaving you dripping in a pool of your own sweat after every workout. Some of these workouts could potentially burn as much as a thousand calories depending on your intensity. That is the key with these workouts, you have to “Dig Deep” and push on and continue through.
Will Insanity work for you if you are fat? Of course it will but you have to be able to do the workouts. If you are having a hard time climbing a flight of stares then Insanity is not the place to start for you. There are other Beachbody workouts you should be considering. Here is a free workout with Tony Horton which is perfect for you you if your are extremely overweight and are just getting started. This workout will get you moving and should not get you too frustrated. Trying to do Insanity and not being able to keep up for most of the workout can be truly frustrating and that is not the best way to start off. You would probably get discouraged and quit if you were always on the sidelines watching the workout because it was too hard or because you couldn’t catch your breath.
I would say start with Tony Horton’s free workout, grab yourself some Shakeology and replace a meal and you will be off to a fantastic start. You could even do the Shakeology workouts that you will receive a link to when you order Shakeology. The Shakeology workouts consist of either a 30 or 50 minute workout that you can do 4-5 times a week. You can do these while you are working your way up to Shaun T’s Insanity.
The main thing is to select a workout you can do. Don’t worry, if you stick with it you will be doing Insanity in no time. If you have more questions feel free to leave a comment below or send me an email and we can figure out if you are ready for Insanity.
You can also save money by combining Shakeology and Insanity together. Check out our Beachbody Challenge page.
“Does it work” is a relative term/question. Most people ask it without defining what they mean by it. When someone asks me a question like that, I usually answer with it depends on what you want it to work for. Then I can give them a better answer.
I think people more or less want to make sure that its strictly willpower-based rather than a physical limitation. Like I am considering the insanity challenge. Since I am about 30lbs overweight, will my heart give out if I do this challenge or is it really just me “digging deep”. If I know that its strictly going to be a tough workout that I need to mentally be prepared for, I’ll be much more determined to make it work as opposed to simply not being able to keep up because all the people are in a much better physical state then me.
Malcolm, Yes you will need willpower to get through Insanity but you also need to have some kind of fitness base. It is a tough work out and if you haven’t worked out in a long time I wouldn’t suggest starting with Insanity. Power P90 might be a better option. You also might want to get a physical before you start just to be on the safe side.
I’m 5’8″ and 160lbs, been walking at about 3mph for 50mins and jogging at about 5mph for 10mins everyday for the past 2 weeks. I started trying the Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit which is about 43mins long, and by 24mins I had to stop. Should I keep trying or do something else?
@j,I started insanity weighing at 250 pounds my height is 5’11”,I just finish the first month and I know weight 229 pounds. The first week I could not finish the workouts either. The best thing for you to do is once you can’t go any further just keep jogging until you feel ready to jump back in. Now if your exhausted and just can’t do it anymore stop, but make sure to do the streches because they are extremely important; the more flexible you are the better your results will be.
Tommorrow I start my recovery week, once I am done I will start my routine with the first months videos, and until the third month I will switch to second month videos.
Well Good luck J and to all of you who want to get fit!!!
@J, Keep trying !! Insanity is tough but you are getting better each time you do it. I think you will be surprised after 60 days. Just keep doing what you can.
@Angelo, That’s awesome!! Down 21 lbs is really good. Keep up the great work.
I’m only 15 and doing the insanity it’s extremley Hard and i weigh 250lbs I stop at somepoint of the work out but I finish it do u think I should just stop
Hi Brandon…. Insanity is definitely tough but you also need to know your limits. If you decide to stick with it just takes breaks and do what you can.
Hi,
Will insanity be good for getting fitnfor my college soccer season? I only have about 2 and a half months until my season starts and I want to be able to run the complete 90 minutes without needing a break. If you could get back quickly that would be awesome.
Yes, Insanity will get you there but since you are playing at the college level you might want something even more intense. Insanity: The Asylum would be real good for you as well. You can get some details at https://www.decidetostayfit.com/store-home/shaun-ts-insanity/insanity-the-asylum
Those Asylum work outs are great and will benefit any athlete.
I am starting insanity next week. I also have started hitting the gym I’m not one of those people who wants to just look good but in reality am week or have no endurance. I am a marine but not going to lie got out of shape over winter I want to get in awesome shape and see my abs again and not have boobs. I’m only about 15 pounds over weight but My body fat is always high even when i was 25 pounds under my max weight. I would like to get down to about 12-15% bf. I am about 26% now. I am planning on insanity for a month and add running with it the second month (ive done this before with p90x so i know my limits) and I plan on doing weights in the evening. Do you think my goals are reachable? I would like to be about 185 with some size and definition without a belly. I’m 5’11 and 210 right now but even at 170 the belly was there so im trying for bodyfat. What ssay you?
Yes I definitely think your goals are reachable but it seems you are putting a lot of focus on cardio. I would put more focus on P90X and resistance training. Muscle burns the fat and will kick up your metabolism as well.
Ok people, I have one for you. I’m 26 and in the worst shape of my life. I’m tired of being like this. For the past 3 months I have been working out…hitting the gym 6 days a week and cardio and least 30 minutes a day. I have nothing to show for it. I’m trying to decide between Insanity and P90x. I’m 6’1″ at 265lbs. I want to get back into shape…I want to look like what I did back in high school when I was 7% body fat and ripped. I’m on the road most of the year so the nutrition factor is a huge problem…having to stay at hotels without refrigerators or even a mini kitchen. Anyone have any suggestions?
Ok so im 205 lbs and 5′ 10″ and i was wonderin could insanity actually help me lose 15-25 lbs that i have struggled to lose for a while now do u think it could help me??
@Fred Insanity is an awesome work out and when coupled with the nutrition plan I am sure you would meet your goals. However Insanity is not the work out for you if you are just starting out. Insanity is tough and I never suggest it for those just getting started. Any other questions just let me know.
Ok jeff thanks i’ve actually been playing soccer for a while now and i handle the workout but i just wanted to is it going to work for sure before i get it!!
I am currently in the middle of doing my insanity workout and I am just starting the second month. During the first month, I lost some weight but I seem to have gained that weight back and have been pretty consistent at my initial weight. I am 5’8″ and about 175 pounds. I have noticed that the weight I have gained back did not come back as the fat I lost but I still am not seeing major results. On the website, it shows people that look similar to about as overweight or out of shape-looking as I was at the start going from that point to becoming totally ripped with a showing six pack. I am aware that the workout came with a nutrition plan that recommends eating 5 times a day but i do not have time for that many meals so I have been eating just 3 while still maintaining a healthy amount of calories. While I have definitely seen improvements in my physical condition, they do not appear to be all that major nor does it seem as if I finish this next month will I have a six pack. I am wondering if my projections are accurate in that my shape will improve but not enough to have a six pack or if the real improvement comes in the second month and it is realistic to expect a six pack. Also I thought I might mention that so far I can make it through all of the videos with a few breaks and pauses.
I would highly suggest following the meal plan for the best results. They say to eat 5 times a day for a reason. Also, not everyone starts from the same place so it is not safe to assume that everyone will have a 6 pack after 60 days. Might take 90. Might take 120.
Ok I see what you mean with the cardio and you suggest P90x thing is I still want to lift weights as well. Do you know how I could do a good split routine in the evenings that would work well with p90x I do my p90x in the morning weights in the afternoon and I go for a light jog in the evenings to stay in step from being in the military. Thanks
You could definitely do P90X and then run later. I wouldn’t run on Plyo or Legs and Back day though. Also, here is a P90X/Insanity hybrid schedule that you might want to follow. https://www.decidetostayfit.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/p90x-insanity-hybrid.pdf
I’m 20 years old, and weigh 244 pounds and I’m starting insanity tomorrow. Could anyone give me a ballpark of estimate how how much weight I could potentially lose, I’d like to lose about 35 pounds in the 60 days. Is this realistic?
I’m a 14 year old female and weigh about 282 and my height is about 5’10.(I know, I weigh a pretty lot)
My mother told me to try Insanity to lose weight because it’s so intense and can get you there in a pretty good time. I admit I’ve done it for about 2 weeks and it’s very hardcore and very extreme to do. I have seen a little bit of results(I didn’t have curves in my waist, i looked like a log. Now I’m beginning to almost see an hour-glass kind of shape ALMOST) And I’ve been very happy with what I’m seeing now. I haven’t even really stuck to the food plan in the box.
I seen a lot of people saying it’s more for getting muscle then losing weight. And also people saying it’s not working for their weight goal but their stomach been flatter and their waist been slimmer.
At first(before I saw results a little) I thought I wasn’t going to get to my weight goal because of people say it doesn’t work. And I was losing hope alot…
But I decided to start running in the morning and keep doing Insanity because I have seen a few women results in 1-60 days and they had weight problems and the results were awesome! so I just have to keep going at it for 60 and keep going for another 60 and just stick to it until I at least get the figure I want and not worry so much about the weight. Just be happy to be looking good is most important, what I say.
That’s awesome Karly!!!!!! Keep digging deep every day. Try and follow the meal plan. Nutrition is super important.
Hi,i am a 16 year old teen about 260s but big.I usta play football in recent years back and i was wondering what woul be better insanity or p90x considering my heavyness. I am 5″11 and am not that busy so i have the time i am really looking foward to purchasing one of these.I tried many things to lose weight but it just hasnt workd.i work out on a daily basis in the school gym so u tell me what do you think is better.
Hey, I’ve started at about 235 doing insanity. When i finished i was about 205. I’m thinking about doing it again, i was wondering how many times do you think doing the insanity program n following the nutrition plan will get u a flat stomach. Cause the first time i finished it i still had fat around the stomach, maybe I’m losing weight in other places.
Ehh since im young i thought once i was gonna follow it strictly and plus my stomach isnt that big its mostly my legs but i workout so there big in muscle. So idk wat to say im just thinking the 60 days will work wat do you think?
@Bryan You dropped 30 lbs….. Awesome. Remember, belly fat is usually the hardest to get rid of and the last to go. Another 60 days will get you in great shape but fitness is a lifetime commitment, not a 60 day commitment. Stick with the nutrition plan, keep exercising and you will keep getting results.
@Dee When you say “work”, what do you mean? Insanity will get you in great shape but everyone starts from a different point. Will you be in better shape in 60 days after Insanity? You sure will!!!
Hi Jeff, thanks for sharing this important article with us! My weight is 209 ls, i’m from Venezuela and a week ago i decided to start making exercise and changing my lifestyle, it is already giving me results… but i’m really interested in starting Insanity, everybody is telling me i can do it, that i’ll be hard as hell, but that it is a mind condition, so, now i read this article i don’t know if it should be ok to start or not, i’m a bit confused. I’m not lazy and i think i mentally prepared, CAN I DO IT?
@Isabela Insanity is tough. If this is your first work out program I would NOT start with Insanity. You can do some other things and work you way up to it but if you start with Insanity you might be taking a lot of breaks. you can always order it and give it a shot and if you can’t do it then put it on display so you see it every day and use it as motivation.
I’m 22 5’9, 250 lbs., I install semi and truck tires for a living. But its not enough for me any more. I want to start working out. I just got a bowflex and about to get insanity. Should I do both? I want to lose the belly, but really want to get stronger? My goal is 200
Thanks
@Joe Insanity is a very tough work out. With out knowing where you are starting from it would be tough to say if you could do Insanity and a bowflex work out. The key is to get started, I would probably have to say choose one or the other for now to see how it goes.
Ok thanks. I’m gona try insanity and bowflex. I just don’t want to get all skinny and saggy
Hello! My name is Dimitri. I am 328 lbs and I am 6’1. As you know, that is extremely overweight and I am considered obese. However I am on my 3rd day of Insanity and I will have to admit it is challenging. Most (if not all) the people at my weight could not do insanity but by God somehow I can pull it off. This is not to say I don’t pause the video at times, I do. As a matter of fact, the 40+ minute Plyometric Cardio Circuit took me about an hour and a half… but the thing is if I listen to my favorite rock band and work-out I notice I can do much more. My motivation is to join the Army ROTC when I leave to college in 2 years. So to whoever is reading this and is as overweight as I am, you can do it. It IS possible. Set your mind to a different tune, be proud, just think of what you will accomplish over 60 days. Though I am not all fat I still have trouble just like everyone else, weather they are 350 lbs or 150 lbs.
PS- The best feeling in the world, guys, is the sweat-drenched “wife-beater” at the end of your 40+ minutes. Best feeling in the world. The thing to remember is nobody is chasing you, nobody is making you do what you can’t do. I still sweat bullets and feel like crap afterward but I know that that is just me telling my fat “GTFO! I’VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU!!”
Thanks for reading my testimony!
@Dimitri Awesome attitude Dimitri!!!!! I wish everyone seen this the way that you do. You have a great outlook and I am sure you will reach your goals. Be sure to stop by and let us know how it is going!!!!
I am starting insanity on Sunday- I move this weekend. However, I just want to echo what Dimitri said. I am 6’0″ tall and I weigh 319lbs. (that’s down from 329- which is what I weighed 2 weeks ago). I started out by modifying my diet and decided to give my body two weeks to get accustomed to that before starting insanity. I have always been heavy, even though I played sports in high school and college. I am on a women’s full tackle pro football team (Indy Crash), and I’m tried of being tired. I’m only 27 and I want to make sure I’m living life to the fullest. No more hiding behind my weight.
I will be back on here to post updates, because even though I’m doing this for me, I understand what its like to scour search engines trying to find “somebody like me” who has done it and seen results. Keep your heads up. This is a journey of one-day-at-a-time!
Hey guys, it’s me Dimitri. This is just me checking in 🙂 I just finished week 2 and I am proud to announce I am 309.4 lbs now, so you do the math… I have lost, in about 2 and a half weeks, almost 19 pounds. ARE YOU KIDDING? I’ve gotten compliments from my Colonel and I’ve got a date on Thursday! This is just the beginning, my motivation is stronger than ever! I want to thank you for putting up this article and now I can say to all reading this…. “You can freakin do it” just like Shaun T said in one of the workouts!
Hey, I am 28 years old and 5’7 and 275lbs. I am so tired of being tired and although I was a high school and college athlete I really fell off the fit wagon. I recently went to the doctor and I am by blood work terms very health it is just my weight. Do you think that insanity would be a great jump start to fitness for me?
@Dimitri Great job man. 19 lbs is awesome. I am sure you will keep on dropping. Stick with it and “Dig Deep”.
@Darryl Insanity is tough but with out knowing your background it would be tough for me to say if it would be a good place to start for you. Feel free to give me a call so we can talk about it. Just click on the “contact us” tab at the top of the page for my number.
@Jen Awesome Jen, Be sure to keep us informed on how your Insanity journey is going!!!!
I’m starting insanity on the 28Th, I’m 290 lbs and I’m 5’8. I started running on our treadmill to get myself ready for insanity, and i stopped all the fast food and soda help cut back on calories, I’m ready to lose this body fat, I cannot wait to get started.
Hello i have been doing the insanity workout for a month now and im 6’3″ 210ish and im trying to get down to at least 180 what can I do to shed this weight please let me know. I also have been on my own diet which consist of a lot of protein could this help burn my fat off.
@Denis If you have been doing Insanity for a month then you are about to step it up with the Max work outs in the second month. I would just keep doing the work outs and follow the Insanity nutrition plan. The nutrition plan is just as important as the work outs themselves.
@Christopher Awesome that you have decided to take the challenge. Be sure to get a physical before starting Insanity if this is your first attempt at an extreme work out. These are extreme work outs and most likely harder then anything you have ever tried before. Be sure to let us know how it goes and don’t forget to create your free account at https://www.decidetostayfit.com/go/free/ so you can get some free tips, tracking tools etc and be a part of our Beachbody community.
Hi, I have one simple question, will Insanity work for a slightly over weight and fat person?
@Rick Insanity definitely works!!! It is an extremely tough work out though so if you are not used to extreme cardio then it is going to be tough for you in the beginning.
im 13 almost 14 and 171 pounds.Christmas is coming up i wanted to try insanty. i heard it works but before i try it i really wanna know if it works because i play volleyball and softball and i get tired just walking up the stairs and my mom doesnt like my wieght so i really wanna change….
should i try insanity
@Megan If you get tired walking up stairs then Insanity is probably not the best place to start. It will be tough for you to even make it through the warm up. You might want to consider some like TurboJam https://www.decidetostayfit.com/turbojam to help build you up to Insanity.
hello im 13 years old i way 180 and this year after volleyball we had a after season party and at the end my coach pulled aside 4 girls (including me_) and said we need to lose some wieght or we wont make the high school team it really upset me because im a really good volley ball player and i played most off the time and when i saw insanity it made me really want to do it so i was wondering would insanity be good for me?
is it really hard to do? and
will i lose my curves because i really like them
@Jessica Hi Jessica. Yes, Insanity is really hard. If you are playing sports at the high school level and have no problem with the volley ball conditioning then Insanity will take you to the next level. Insanity also comes with a nutrition guide to follow so you know what to eat as well. This is just as important as the work outs themselves. Be sure to order at https://www.decidetostayfit.com/shaun-t-insanity so you get your FREE “Fast and Furious” work out.
I just started insanity today. during the fit test, i couldn’t do the push ups at all. I weigh 202 pounds and i am 5 ft 7. do you think i will pick up how to do it during the days or i should just give up?
@Selina You definitely should not just give up. Have you tried the push-ups from your knees? Try that and see how that works for you. Insanity is an extreme work out so if you are finding to difficult to start you might want to to something like TurboJam https://www.decidetostayfit.com/turbojam first and work your way up to Insanity.
Hey Jeff, I commented on how I was starting Insanity on the 24Th of November, well I love it! I have lost 13 lbs already and people can tell! @ Selina Just because you cannot do one part of the video now doesn’t mean you won’t be able to later. When I started I was barley able to do push ups as well, now I can do around 10-15 which is a lot more then I was able to do before, I started at 296 and I’m at 283, so If I can do this you can to! Don’t give up, and as Jeff said, do knee Push-ups they are really good to use if you can’t do normal ones. Just don’t give up, hardest part of losing weight (imo) is staying dedicated to do so!
I’m on day 24 today and I can’t wait to get into my workout!
@ Christopher Awesome job!!! 13 pounds is really good. You are right my friend, you have to stay dedicated. If it is important to you, you will find a way. Keep “Digging Deep” and let us know of your progress.
hi im going to start insanity soon but its hard for me to breathe because she smokes and im over wieght so i dont want to do it in front of her…..please answer soon
@decidingtostayfit I am not really sure what your question is???
my mom smokes so i dont really know if i should do insanity because it gets hard for me to breathe do u think i should do it
Tell your mom to quit smoking and do it with you!
Hey i just started insanity today and man it kicked my but but om i had to take some breaks the problem was that my parents kept calling me a wimp and telling me that it looks easy and my dad yells at me and says u wimp if ur going to do it then do it…
I dont want to work out in front of them any more so i really dont know what to do….. i love working out and i felt great after doing it but when there around it gets to the point that ill start crying when they watch me..
any ideas
@Megan Taking breaks is no problem Megan. Just do your best and you will work your way up to the full workout. Maybe you should tell your parents to get up and do the work outs with you?? I bet they can’t do it!
If they are not going to support you they I would suggest going to another room with a tv in it and doing the work out there or using you lap top if you have one and then you can go anywhere you want. If that doesn’t work out maybe you can grab a friend that wants to get in shape with you and do the work outs at their house.
ok im probably getting annoying but i have a quick question do i need to wear a heart rate moniter or what ever there called if so how much do they cost and where can i get one because shawn T keeps saying make sure ur heart rate is safe but idk what safe is… could u tell me and if u need my hight and wieght its 5’6″ and i weigh about 169.3 through 171.5 please answer quick
I have a question…for the insanity program what if you do it at your own paced will it still work? and what if you stop between exercises? I am 5’3 weigh 146 pounds and I want to lose 29 pounds more before March is it possible?
@Joey Most people have to stop between exercise when they first get started so the best advice is do your best and work yourself up to doing the whole work out straight through. You will get there if you stick with it. If you are looking to lose 29 lbs the you really need to stay committed to the nutrition plan as well. This is just as important as the work outs themselves. Anything is possible but 1-2 lbs a week is the healthiest way to lose weight. Also, once you get closer to your goal weight it is usually harder to lose that last 10-15 so you might to push even harder around that time.
I’m 6 ft 4″ 350 lbs I’m a firefighter and I need to get into shape becaus my job is very intense. I can do a lot without getting out of breath but I need to drop a lot of this weigh.I Amazon big guy I did wrist test and my finger almost reaches my thumb so I’m consider big boned would this work out work for me?
@Austin Insanity is a tough work out. If you are a beginner you might want to start your journey with Power 90. If you are used to extreme cardio then Insanity is for you. When you say “Will it work for me?”, my answer is, absolutely. If you stick with the work outs and the nutrition plan you will see results. Remember, if you go with Insanity, pace yourself and take breaks if you need to. Shaun T will always be waiting for you know matter how many breaks you take!!! 🙂
I’m 17 years old, 5’9″ 236lbs. I’m interested in trying insanity. My cardio level isn’t extreme but its decent. I’m also lifting weights 5 days of the week in high school at a moderate level. Should I try insanity, and, at my age, how much can I realistically expect to lose if I give it my all and try to stick to the diet plan? Also, I can feel the muscles under the fat, and I think that if I just lose the fat, I’ll gain more muscle definition, would this be true? Thanks in advance!
@Jessie If you are looking for a challenge then you can give Insanity a go. It will definitely take your fitness to the next level. There is no set amount of weight you will lose. There are too many factors that determine weight loss. I am sure you will love your results if you stick with the Insanity work outs and the nutrition plan. Any other questions just let me know.
I started Insanity on January 3 and the first few days was completely sore. I started my weight loss journey a few months ago (July 2011) at 181 pounds. I started Insanity at 170 and weighed in today and was down to 167.2.
I love cardio but Insanity is extreme. My ultimate goal is 130 and I hope Insanity can get me there. I haven’t going by the nutrition guide, but I have been altering my diet a LOT.
Now, as far as the video is concerned. I can’t keep up and have to constantly pause it to regain my breath – and even then I can’t keep up with the number of reps that they’re doing on the video. Will I still see results or will I only see results if I do what the machines do on TV?
I want to lose weight sooo bad!!!! Insanity I hope will take me there!
@ T Weight loss takes time. Time you take your before measurements and pics so you can track your progress??? Taking breaks is OK, just do your best and stick with it. Also, try and follow the nutrition plan. It is just as important as the work outs themselves.
I am a dancer, and am in relatively good shape. (I can run a mile or two at a time). Do I need to check with a Dr. before starting insanity? If so why?
I am 23. I weigh 183, and am 5′ 5″. I am not in great condition, but I am decent. I am interested in losing weight and getting in shape. I am aware of how difficult this would be, but I want to give it a try. Is this realistic? Should I go for it?
@Karen Insanity is extreme cardio. I always say to check with your doctor if you are unsure before you start. Insanity is not like running 2 miles it is more like sprinting 2 miles. You will be doing long bursts of training with short 30 second breaks and then back into high intensity training.
@Abby If you are in good shape and promise that you will stick with it for 60 days then let’s do it. You might have to take a few breaks during the work outs but if you stick with it you will get results.
Im 19, weigh 305 pounds and im 6′ 3″ I keep reading people saying if you arent in shape dont even try Insanity, try a different program. my main deal is im wanting to shed fat, as far as a weight goal i dont really care i just want to be healthier because i have been overweight my entire life.
My question is, with me being as heavy as i am would it benefit me trying this? im a construction worker so im not terribly out of shape and I know i wont be able to keep up with everything on the video at first either.
I would greatly appreciate any feedback.
Brandt
@Brandt I know you say you are not in terrible shape but how is your cardio. How do you feel when you sprint? This is how you will feel for 40-50 straight minutes. Will you benefit from Insanity? Of course you will but you need to be able to do enough of the work out. Remember, you can always give it a try and if taking breaks isn’t enough then you can return it for a refund and try something else. Be sure to order at https://www.decidetostayfit.com/shaun-t-insanity so you get your FREE “Fast and Furious” work out.
Any other questions just let me know and if you decide to get Insanity be sure to let me know how it is going.
Hi, I just started insanity today, but I am heavy chested. When I do my jumps and hops, my breasts are painful. How/what can I do to be able to complete my workouts without pain? I have a sports bra which helps better than a standard bra, but it is still not enough support to keep everything from moving.
I would appreciate any advice you can give me. I am truly motivated but this is holding me back.
Hi everyone! I love the comments that you have left! I’m just starting out but my doctor had recommended it. My question is this. I’m not looking to get ripped and have that six pack but I’m looking to be toned. Is it possible with this intense workout? I am looking to lose 70 pounds which I know takes exercise and nutrition. Is there any way that I can become toned on this program without getting ripped? Thanks!
@Phyllis I have had this question before and the most popular response was to double up on the sports bra and you could even go 1 size down on the sports bra for an extra snug fit. Hope this helps. Keep “Diggin Deep”.
@Liz Yes, you will get toned. If you are lucky enough to find yourself getting a 6 pack and you do not want it then you can always back off your intensity level.
Hi everyone,
I just received my Insanity DVDs today, and I can’t wait to start the workout! I read the comments before, as I was a bit frightened that I am not ready for this workout. I am very overweight (115kg) and out of shape, even though I worked out before. But comments from people like Dimitri and others is the best motivation! I really hope I stick to this program, as I had trouble motivating myself to start working out or going to the gym in general. I quit smoking recently, which was my first step towards fitness. Good luck everyone, and I hope I am much healthier and stronger after I complete this workout!
@Vaidas Congrats on quitting smoking and deciding to take steps towards better health. Insanity is tough but just do your best. If you stick with it you will reach your goals. Also, you need to find something that will motivate on the days you are having trouble getting started. Here is what I do http://youtu.be/nZCNzawSBsM
Be sure to let us know how it is going!!!!
Well im 29 y.o. 260lbs and 5’5″ tall looking to get back to the way i looked 12 yrs ago prior to children. Is insanity for me?
@Jen Insanity will get anyone in better shape but the question should be is it is the best start for you. Insanity is extreme cardio. It is tough and if you can handle that then you can give it a try. If you have not worked out in a long time then you tight want to start with something like TurboJam https://www.decidetostayfit.com/turbojam or RevAbs https://www.decidetostayfit.com/revabs-brett-hoebel and then work your way up to doing Insanity. The key is to get started with something you can do and then progress from there. Feel free to shoot me an email if you would like to talk in more detail.
Hey I weigh about 188 and I’ve been doing insanity for 4 weeks now… I haven’t dropped a pound and my clothes don’t fit any looser I can do more and more of the workouts than I could in the beginning and my legs seem more toned but im getting a bit discouraged… How come I’m not losing anything? Thanks!
@Emily22 More important than the number on the scale are your measurements. Did you take them before you started Insanity? This is the best way to track your progress. Since you can do more of the work out you are definitely making progress. Stick with it and be sure to follow the nutrition guide. You also might want to check out this blog post https://www.decidetostayfit.com/why-am-i-gaining-weight-while-doing-shaun-ts-insanity-work-out This explains why you might not lose weight or why you might even gain weight when you start a workout program
Abby again…I have now completed my first three weeks! I have lost some weight, and can really tell a change in how my body looks. Just wanted to update. One question…Can you complete cardio abs on days other than days that you do pure cardio? You know, just to work your abs a little more? I can really see how much it works when I do it, so I was wanting to do it more often. Is that ok?
@Abby Awesome Abby…. If you have some juice left at the end of your Insanity work outs you could probably to Cardio Abs. I wouldn’t do it more than 3 times a week though. great job and keep “Diggin Deep”.
Will insanity work to get some baby fat off?
@Christina Insanity will definitely help you get some baby fat off. Be sure to order at https://www.decidetostayfit.com/shaun-t-insanity so you get you FREE Fast and Furious work out!!! If you would like to save some money and get our premium meal replacement shake with Insanity then check out our Insanity pack and save. Help! im 28 5’9 and weigh about 228… I have always been an athlete in basketball and baseball but since ive gotten older i haven’t been doing as much but softball..I heard insanity is very intense and need to be okay shape before you start…I work for coca cola and throw pop and pull skids all day…which is pretty active so i guess my question is do you think my job being as active as it is, is good enough to start insanity?? I need to be at 175 or want to be at 175 by may/june? Think this is possible?? Answers PLEASE??!!?!?
@Cokeguy11 I know you pull skids all day but Insanity is extreme cardio… Remember, if it is too hard for you you can always return it or save it for a later date. Yes, you will lose weight but to get to 175 in 3 months will probably be a little tough. Remember, I’m sure it took more than 3 months to put that weight on so it might take some time to get it all back off. I would suggest an Insanity challenge pack which is Insanity + Shakeology + accountability to help you get the best results. https://www.decidetostayfit.com/take-the-challenge
Hi Jeff- my husband and I recently purchased Insanity (im 22, hes 27) Should I attempt the work outs? I’m highly motivated and although I don’t exercise as intensely or as often as I’d like, when I do I feel great and have never exceeded my limits. But- I am not in shape. I do appear to be somewhat in shape- 5ft 4in 103lbs, but I’d like to do insanity to increase the muscle mass I once had before my two kids. Any suggestions?
Hi me again, not sure if you check this often. Well, we started insanity (my husband and I) and took the fitness test. I surprised myself not only by completing the actual test, but pacing myself well and getting good results. I can’t wait to track my accomplishments and see all the improvement in the both of us. I’m hoping I can rebuild muscle but also tone looser skin in my lower stomach. Is that possible? Thanks in advance!!
Hey, I just have a quick question. I started insanity about two and half weeks ago. When I started I weighed 210lbs and am 5’5″. I completely changed my diet around and began following the elite nutrition guide as closely as possible. I will admit that my fit test results this second time taking it I did much better. Also I have noticed I can do much more of the workouts before having to take a break (also taking less breaks all together). I just feel like all my work is going right down the drain. I feel like nothing at all has changed and my clothes feel the same on me. I guess I just need some words of encouragement after reading all these people that have seen such major results in only two weeks. Idk what I am doing wrong. I just wanna get healthy and feel good about myself.. I wanna lose 50 pounds to be honest but now looking at it I feel like I’m not gonna lose any at all. Please help…. :/
@Kate Glad to hear to you did well with the fit test. Awesome!!! Yes, you will tighten and tone as you progress but remember, the lower belly is usually the last place to show it. It’s the the hardest to get rid of and the last to leave so just stick with it and you will see progress.
@Kirsten Don’t worry Kirsten, it takes time…. Did you take your measurements before you started? This is the best way to track your progress. Also, check out this post. https://www.decidetostayfit.com/why-am-i-gaining-weight-while-doing-shaun-ts-insanity-work-out Also remember everyone is different. Some people gain weight the first 2 weeks. Stick with it, you will get there.
Hey… I want to try this workout. I am 25 years old, 5’8″ and weigh 114 pounds. I want to gain weight rather than lose. Will this workout help me gain the weight or muscles? My goal is to be at 120 pounds. Any suggesstions?
I am 23 and a mom of a 16 month old and ready to lose some weight. I did weigh 190 but I dropped 10 lbs doing taebo but it takes too long. I am now 180 lbs and 5’3″ I want to lose 35-40 lbs at least. Could this be accomplished with the insanity program in two months.
I’m 26 years old 350 pounds but I’m active a little, I paly basketball a little. I wanted to know if I try the Insanity workout will it work for me?
@Sonia Yes you can gain muscles with Insanity but you will have to make sure you follow the nutrition plan and you will probably have to up your calories more to put on the extra weight. You might want to check out https://www.decidetostayfit.com/p90x if you are looking to get some muscle and gain a few pounds.
@Sacious Insanity is a tough program and 40 lbs in 2 months is a lot. Depending on how hard you work and how well you eat will determine how much you lose. The best thing to do is just get started, make this a life long habit and that way you will never have to worry about it again.
@Terrell Insanity works for everyone. It will be a lot tougher than playing a little basketball so you might want to take it slow in the beginning or start with something a little less intense. I also suggest Shakeology with your program as this will help with the nutrition side. You can save some money and take our Insanity challenge here https://www.decidetostayfit.com/take-the-challenge
I cant afford to buy Whey Protein, Performance Formula, results and Recovery Formula, and Shakeology are their and substitutes?
@Terrell Just follow the nutrition plan as closely as you can. ie Eating the right foods. I wouldn’t recommend cheap unhealthy supplements.
Hi I’m looking into getting either p90x or insanity but I can’t decide. I’m extremely over weight and have done all the fad diets but it makes me physically sick and I know it takes a toll on my health cause I can feel it. I’m not looking to be muscular, just lose weight
@Ms V. Both Insanity and P90X are extreme work outs and you might want to start with something you will be sure to handle like TurboJam https://www.decidetostayfit.com/turbojam The main thing is to find a solid nutrition plan which are work outs come with and make exercising a habit. Diets rarely work because they are not something you can sustain over the long term. Eating right is the key and you can always do 1 work out and then when you are ready move on to P90X or Insanity.
can i drink muscle milk doing the insanity workout
I started Insanity today with the fit test. I weigh 185 and Im 5 ft 4in. I used to workout, treadmill amd weights regularly until about 3 yrs ago I stopped and hadnt worked out since. A buddy told me to do the fit test only for at least first week. Then if Im ready begin the 60 days. I find I have to rest often and drink lotsa water. What do i recommend and whata your opinion on his advice?
Ok so my mom doesnt know if she can do insanity with me
because she has arthritis in her back and she really does want to do that with me.
is there a way that she can do insanity and not hurt her back.
Hey guys! So I started Insanity today with the fit test and couldn’t even do the push-ups. I am 22, 5’7 and weigh 205 lbs. I was extremely hesitant to try the program, however, my cousin is going on her 2nd month and has already lost 20 some lbs and she started at 223. She’s pretty much my motivation as she could barely even finish the warm up at first. I can’t wait to see where I will be a month from now! Any suggestions are more than welcome!
Im 20 and have hyperthyroidism for 3 years, before that i was an athlete and in great shape but once i started controlling my thyroid with medication i gained 40 pounds in a month. Do you think that by using insanity i could take of the weight even if my metabolism doesn’t function as well and i take daily medication?
@terrell You could probably use muscle milk as your recovery drink if you want.
@Rigo Remember, you can take breaks if you have to.
@Megan That is a tough question and your mom might want to get the green light from her doctor before attempting Insanity. On the flip side I have back problems myself and have has back surgery and I have done Insanity, Asylum,P90X and P90X2. I feel best when I am working out. She has to go by what she feels and if it hurts she needs to stop.
@Brit You can modify the push ups and do them from your knees. Just keep pushing and do what you can.
@Gigi I am no doctor and it might be best to consult with them. Sounds to me like your meds need to be adjusted if you are gaining that much weight. Insanity would definitely be good for you but its tough to say how it will help with weight loss. I would say go for it. Worst case scenario, you will be in better shape.
I’m 334 pounds and I’m on week two of insanity I wanna be 50 pounds wen I’m done think I’ll get there !?
@Brittany Do you mean 50 lbs lighter???
I’m on my fourth week and have lost 5 pounds my goal is to lose another 5. I want to weight 105 but most of all I want to loose my baby fat a have lost a little bit but not as much as I want. What I have noticed is that my legs are more toned and i am gaining more muscle their. My question is if during the next month iam goona see more result in my stomach?
@Christina You can not spot train your mid section so reducing overall body fat is the key. The 2nd phase of Insanity definitely gets harder so I am sure you will keep seeing results. Remember, sometimes right after having a baby it takes some time for your skin to stretch back and sometimes it is never the same.
I just ordered insanity and I weight lift about four to five days a week at a moderate rate. Two of the four to five days I go in for two a day sessions at the gym. I am 5’8 and weigh about 185 do you think the intensity of the insanity workout will be too much to handle for starting out?
I am 28 yrs old, 4’11”, 154 lbs (down from 196) it has taken me a year to get down this far. And i feel GREAT! Started out doing power p 90 had good results but eventually got bored, same thing over and over. so i eventually just started using the treadmill and various work out videos. So i am finally ready to “dig deep” and take the insanity challenge! I would like to get down to at least 115 lbs. I am very confident and excited that insanity will help me get rid of the last 40 lbs! Cant wait! Will be purchasing on Friday! 🙂
@Sarah First off… Great job at dropping 42 pounds!!! Insanity will definitely take you to another level. Be sure to follow the nutrition guide and let me know if you have any questions. Be sure to order from https://www.decidetostayfit.com/shaun-t-insanity so you save a bit on shipping and Get a FREE Insanity “Fast and Furious” work out. Get ready to “Dig Deep”.
Hey, i’m in starting fourth week of insanity, i’m 32 and about 145 to 150 lbs, I do my best to watch calories. I don’t follow the meal plan, but I do eat often, I work 50 hts a week in fast food (which I don’t eat) but I usually eat a veggie omlet, w/two egg whites and one whole egg, peppers and mushrooms ex for breakfast, ill have a salad with ranch for lunch and I get recipes from skinny taste.com, eat this not that, and other sources for dinner! Sometimes I have to skip the program but at the least I do it 5 days a week! But i’m really not seeing that much in the way of results! I have had 2 kids, but my stomach doesn’t look that bad, just a pooch and lil love handles, and my thighs are really fatty, I have read allot of comments stating that the results come in month 2 . Our am I messing it up with my eating?
@Adie I highly suggest following the meal plan. It takes the guess work out of it and might make it a little easier on you. Just stick with it and do you best. You will most likely see better results in the 2nd half when you start doing the MAX work outs. Do you best and try not to skip any work outs. Consistency is key. Maybe this a habit and a lifestyle. This is not a 60 day this this is a “FOR LIFE” thing.
I’m 6’2 215lb and im looking for a workout that will give me results. I played 4 years of high school football and have gone through some pretty intense workouts in those days. Im about to end my first year of college and its been about a year since i have done any kind of running on a daily basis. I just want to know if i should just jump right into as im extremely motivated to finish it.
@Drew It is going to be hard regardless so just take breaks if you need them. Be sure to order from https://www.decidetostayfit.com/shaun-t-insanity so you get for FREE Fast and Furious work out.
what is the best times to do the workouts?
@Terrell What ever the best time for you is the best time. Just fit it in and get it done. Everyone has a different schedule so the “best” time is different for everyone.
if i missed one day of the workout would it mess up the whole workout program
@Vic Don’t worry about just one day Vic…. Just don’t let it turn into a habit. If you miss more than 1 day then I would repeat that week.
Hi, I’m 5’1 and weigh 145, reading a lot about insanity, they say I won’t lose a lot of weight but I’ll shrink and get a flatter stomach…is that true?! I’m currently doing insanity and hip hop abs, I want to lose 30 pounds.
@Deena If you are doing Insanity and following the plan, you will lose weight. I can’t tell you how much because I don’t know your intensity level or if you are following the nutrition plan but I can tell you this, stick with it and you will get results. Remember, that weight just didn’t pop up in 60 days so it does take some time to see it all leave again.
Pls help…I ready need to lose this baby fat I was 164lbs be for I have my 3 kids and wane I had theme it was back to back now it suck cauz I miss my old body n now im 5’5 and weight 230lb 🙁 and im doing insanity work out but I just want to know if the insanity work out going to help my ton my stomach (baby fat) pls help me
@lauline Yes it will help but you have to give it time. It doesn’t happen over night. It took you 3 kids to get to this point which is years so don’t expect a miracle in 60 days. You will definitely see results with Insanity but remember, this is a lifelong journey that starts with 60 days.
Ok thank you so much that makes me fill a lot batter cauz yes insanity does work and I love doing the work out cauz my daughter she is 3 and every time she wakes up she eat than after that she say mom I want to work out 🙂 so thank you. N yes my kids are my motivates me to work out 🙂
Hi, I just started Insanity today. I actually just got done with the fit test. It was intense! But I did it and very happy with myself. And I look forward to tomorrows workout. But the question isn’t for me, its for my little bro. I also got him Insanity to do with me. Kind of a way for us to bond 300 miles apart since he lives on the other side if the state. He is 13 and extremely athletic. He weighs maybe 130 and is 5’9 very little body fat. He is very talented, does a lot of sports. At the moment he is doing baseball and track. Football and wrestling before that. Will this challenge him?
@AJ From my experience, Insanity, challenges everybody. Doing Insanity will UP his game.
Okay im 5’10” 5′ 11″ and 210 i quess im pretty fit even though im overweight! I was just wandering if i could lose25-35 pounds doing insanity? I need to get fitter for soccer season if i wanna start varsity soccer help:D thanks!!
@Fred I can’t tell you exactly how much weight you will lose as that depends on a lot of factors such as you intensity, if you follow the nutrition plan, if you follow the schedule etc but I can tell you that you will definitely be ready for soccer season. I would also suggest that after your 60 days with Insanity that you go in the 30 day program called Insanity: The Asylum. Then you will really be ready. Be sure to order Insanity from https://www.decidetostayfit.com/shaun-t-insanity so you get your FREE “Fast and Furious” work out.
Hello! I’m Tailor 22, 5’3′ and 181 lbs, i started trying to get healthy a bit before starting Insanity, i was 189 lbs. my husband and i recently started Insanity, i’ll have to admit i was scared at first that i couldn’t do it at all. BUT i can! i’ll admit i fall out a bit and have to jump back in but today is day 5! and i can’t wait for the day i can finally wear a bikini. see, i’ve been overweight since well ever. and i’m so dedicated. I’m not gonna give up. i’m doing my best to keep my calorie intake to 1500 or less. my question i guess is is that a good idea? should i eat more? or less?
@Tailor Awesome Tailor… Stick with it and you will see results. Be sure to follow the nutrition guide and it look like you calculations are correct and you should be taking in about 1462 calories a day based on the Insanity nutrition guide. “Dig Deep” and stick with it and you will get there!
Hi there! My name is Tony. I’m 16 years old I weigh 159 lbs and i’m 5’6 maybe taller. How much weight do you think I would lose, if I stuck to this?
I was wondering, if insanity really does work, and should I get it?
I really want to lose 60 lbs. Even though I really don’t have to. I think being that skinny is good looking! I don’t know why I feel that way, but i’m very self-conscious.
Thank you Jeff!
@Tony Yes, you will lose weight with Insanity. 60 lbs sounds like too much since that will put you at only 99lbs. Focus on getting fit and eating healthy and the rest will fall into place. Do Insanity and be sure to follow the nutrition guide.
Hi, Jeff. Thanks for replying! I have another question, sorry. How much weight loss do you think I should aim for? What’s a healthy weight for 16 year old boys?
@Tony Anything under 154 will put you in a normal body mass index range but 114 is in the normal range as well. So anything between 114 – 154 is pretty normal. I think you should stay more focused on the work outs and the nutrition plan and everything else will take care of itself. The number on the scale are often times misleading and do tell the whole picture.
Again, Thank you Jeff for responding and everything.
You sir are an amazing, person and trainer and give really good advice. 🙂
I’ll follow what you say, and i’ll probably get back to you when I buy it and start noticing results!
I currently weigh 161 lbs and I’m 5’9, I just began weight lifting roughly two months ago, and I have started to see muscle mass growing. I just started doing Insanity 4 days ago. My goal is to lose some of the excess fat from this workout, but I do not want to lose too much weight to the point where I look too skinny. Would it be smart to take a mass gainer twice a day and to incorporate insanity with weight lifting?
@Samuel I don’t want to tell you to take a mass gainer because I know nothing about it. I would say to refer to the Insanity nutrition guide, calculate your calories and them add some extra lean protein calories. You also might want to consider https://www.decidetostayfit.com/p90x if you are looking for more resistance and a little less cardio.
Hi, i jsut finished the first two days of insanity and its definitely a hard workout, i am 6´2 and i weigh about 250-255lb i am currently planning on doing the 60 day program throughout the summer and then repeat the first month right after, do you think i can bring my weight down to about 210 or somewhere in that range, considering i follow a healthy diet as well as try to jog a couple times(mainly play basketball and stuff)? hopefully you can help
well Ive just started the work out already for about a week its looking good feel different alittle but can tell Iam about 260lb already over weight and am not getting younger so we see how it turns out and yes ite hard but worth it
@David That’s awesome David…. Stick with it and do your best and the results will come!!!
@Darius Yes you will lose weight with Insanity but it is tough to tell you how much you will lose since there are a lot of other factors I don’t know. I would say stick with it and be sure to follow the Insanity nutrition guide and you results will come.
Hey, I have a question. I really, REALLY want to get Insanity.
I’m 22 and overweight, and to be honest.. I really have not been all that active.
I realize that I probably won’t be able to keep up, but I really feel I have the willpower to keep pushing myself forward.
Would this still be a good thing for me to get? I want to make the effort, even if it might be painful or I might have to take breaks.
I was reading comments that said to start out with something easier, but I’m very determined to jump right into this.
@Jenn Promise me 1 thing Jenn? That you will do your best and do it for 60 days no matter what. If you can commit to that then let’s go for it. It will be hard and you will need to take breaks but if you commit you will get to where you want to be.
I’m an 18 year old and only 5 feet tall and I weigh nearly 170 pounds… I want to start insanity tomorrow and have exactly 3 months until my first day of college. I would love to get into as good of shape my body can and need to lose a lot of weight in all reality. My goal is around 115pounds. Is this doable for me? I used to weigh 125 my freshman year of high school and It was the best shape I’ve been in my entire life and it’s been climbing up since then. I haven’t been active lately but I now have time to workout and focus on my body so I need some assurance that I can get good results by then because I do plan pm doing insanity for 2 rounds. Please get back to me soon!! Thanks so much 🙂
@Harman I can’t tell you that you will lose all the weight you want in the next 90 days but I can tell you that you will get results if you follow the plan. It took you years to gain that extra weight so don’t expect it all to vanish in a couple months. The key here is health and wellness for life. You want to continue working out and eating right for life. The rest will fall in to place.
im about 161 pounds and 5ft 7 in half inches. i am pretty young and i really want to get my body in shape and feel comfortable again in my own skin. i am deciding between p90x and insanity. the thing is i never work out. i am worried i wont be able to do it and just end up giving up. will it be to hard for me?? what do you think??
@Keni Yes, it will be hard. If if were easy everyone would be in great shape. You have to push yourself if you want to get your body in shape again.
Not really a question but just a word of encouragement for those of us like myself who are over 300 lbs and wondering if this is possible…IT IS! starting off I was 310.6 lbs not very active and HORRIBLE eating habits…I went to the gym here and there but nothing big. I’m now on my 7th day of insanity and lost 11 lbs my first week 🙂 All it takes is dedication and commitment…its more mental than anything…I switched my diet around as well…that helped a lot! Also building a support system or having people do this with is very beneficial. I’ll continue to post my progress
@Jim That’s awesome. Always like to hear encouraging words!!! Keep “Diggin Deep” and be sure to let us all know how it’s coming!!!
Hey, My name is Adryiel Salazar and I’m 14, I been wondring for awhile if u can use insanity if u are 14?
@Adryiel You should check with your parents and your doctor and if they give you the ok then you can go for it. It is extreme cardio so there are no weights so you should be fine.
Im 14 and want to get fit for school this year, was wondering if young teens could do insanity im 5’10 & 180 pounds.
@Sam As long as your parents and doctor give you then green light then you should be fine.
I started insanity at 185 pounds, I’m a short 5’5” 21 year old male. I was very fat. The first time I developed health issues after the first month and had to stop but I had dropped to 170 pounds. Now I just finished day 9, I was never active in my life and with proper diet and insanity, I’ve went from 175 pounds to 162 pounds. And I still have 51 days to go. So this is a program that can be done by almost anyone, even a very fat, short, 21 year old male.
Hey 🙂 I’m 26, a few Pounds shy of 200 and 5’5. I am the worst at an exercise regiment, but when I do anything it’s big or go home. I just did day 2 today and every muscle in my body is killing me! I don’t do the whole DVD probably do a little less then half, and being an asthmatic I take frequent breaks, but I figure it’s better then sitting on the couch! I had a coworker laugh in my face and tell me there is no way I’ll finish this! Thanks for the motivation! Haha
@Mina Nice job Mina…. Nice to see you are sticking with it. That is the key to success. Yes it’s hard but if you stick with it and do your best you will get results. Keep “Diggin Deep”.
@Sarah Way to use that coworker for motivation, that’s awesome!!! Just keep doing what you can and if you have to take breaks then take breaks. You will be doing the whole thing in no time. Great job!!!
im about 5’9 143 pounds, i dont wiegh a whole lot so weight loss isnt a huge factor for me. i am pretty active but havent stuck to a good diet plan and was just wondering if insanity is good for me. i want to lose body fat and gain muscles. im 18 years old and looking to join the military but dont feel physically ready. should i try insanity?
I will be 30yrs old on Dec. 29th. I am currently a stay at home mom of a 21mth old and I weigh more now than I did the day I gave birth. I am 5’4″ and last time I was weighed was at a dr ofc and I was at 207lbs. I am tired of hating what I see in the mirror and feeling embarrassed about my weight. My fiance wants to have our 2nd baby sometime in the near future but I would like to get myself to a better place health wise (which incl’s depression and bad anxiety much due to my weight). I know that I could not keep up right away with Insanity but I know deep down in my heart and soul its what I want to start. Is it possible for Insanity to help someone like me? (Just wish it didn’t cost 150$ and I could get it now).
@Preston If you are ready to take your fitness to the next level and like hard core cardio then Insanity is for you. If you are looking for more muscles then you might want to check out P90X. https://www.decidetostayfit.com/p90x and you will also get 2 FREE P90X One on One work outs when you purchase from my site.
@Alicia As long as you have the green light from your doctor then you should be fine. You might have to take breaks or pause but that’s ok. Just show up every day and do you best. $150 is a drop in the bucket for a work out you can do for the rest of your life. What is getting rid of depression, anxiety and the extra pounds worth to you??? I think $119.85 plus shipping is an extreme value. Be sure to order from https://www.decidetostayfit.com/shaun-t-insanity So you get your FREE Insanity: Fast and Furious work out. You also might want to consider an Insanity Challenge Pack which combines Insanity with the pure nutrition of Shakeology. Hi. Im 28/f, 5’6″ and weigh 280. im going to try the insanity. i got it today in the mail and will start monday cause i want to follow the calender. im not looking to get “the body”..although it’d be nice..just looking to lose weight. i am currently in weight watchers program..so i thought id try insanity as well. my question is..does this work for fat people? im fat. i hate it. and yes its my fault i got to this point..but i want to change. is there any health issues with doing this? anyways im pumped and ready for this challenge..i just hope i see results…and dont give up..
Hi as my name states im an overweight 25 y.o female with now very low self esteem. I gained about fifty pounds after getting married and now feel horrible about myself. Ive owned insanity for about 2 years now and up until this point it has been in the closet collecting dust. I weigh 187.7 pounds and am determined to change my life and begin to feel like the 25 y.o. that i am. As it stands my 53 y.o. mother is in seemingly better shape than I am. Im tired of feeling sorry for myself and crying about it, i wanna do something about it. I have really never worked out seriously in my life, and am addicted to taco bell. Im ready to eat clean and make a lifestyle change. Do i have unrealistic goals in thinking i can complete this program based on my youth alone? I have worked out maybe 6 months collectively in my entire life
I just read the comment on another Brandon kid same age and same name and same weight as me. That is very weird. But anyways I just started I just finished day 2 and I am really excited to get to day 3. Mostly after 15 minutes i take a 5-10 second brake then I keep going. This is not as insane as i thought it would be but I haven’t finished it all and I am sure it will get even more insane. I hope I can push through and keep going!
I started insanity a week ago, and so far it lives up to the name to say the least. Most days im good to just take one or two minute breaks during the workouts, occasionally a little more if I’m not feeling well on that given day. I am 15 years old, weigh about 155 pounds and am 6’2 tall. I hear that working as hard as Insanity makes you can be bad for someone of my age because my body is still developing. Is this true?
I am 49 years old, 5’10” 263 lbs with knee pain. I have areal hard time doing squats. However, I’m very agile and strong. I’m serious about changing my lifestyle. Is this workout for me? Also, does your skin sag by loosing so much weight in a short period of time with this workout? thank you
I am 215 pounds but I have been going to the gym about 3-4 times a week, would you say it’s to early to start Insanity? Or should I actually try to lose more weight before I try it?
@Chyanne It all starts with your desire for change. You have decided you want change and you have a program that can make it happen. YES, it is going to be tough and yes you will need to take breaks but if you stick with it you will get results. Just show up every day and do your best and your results will come.
@Brandon Awesome!!! Just keep pushing play every day. Taking breaks is OK, you will improve every day.
@Jensen This is a question you should discuss with your parents and your doctor but from my experience Insanity will provide you with plenty of healthy benefits. There are no heavy weight involved which is a concern for some when you are in high school or younger. My son is 13 yrs old and has completed a 1/2 round of P90X. He just uses light weights.
@Alicia If you have knee pain then Insanity is probably not for you. There is a lot of jumping and could make matters worse. You do not want to risk injury. You should get the green light from your doctor before getting started. With that being said I have had back surgery, rotater cuff injury and a knee injury and I still do Insanity. You know your body better than anyone so the biggest piece of advice I can give is to listen to it.
@A You have not told me your age, how tall you are or if you are a man or woman so I have no idea whether 215 makes you over or under weight or your perfect weight. If you are already working out 3-4 times a week and you are looking for something more challenging then Insanity will most likely give you that challenge and some great results.
@RomoChick Yes, Insanity will help you. Be sure to follow the nutrition guide as this is just as important as the work outs. It will be tough but do what you can and show up every day. If you stick with it you will get results.
Sorry about that, I am a woman, I’m about 5’2, and I weigh 215 pounds.
@A It will be tough and you will probably need to take breaks but if your doctor says it’s ok for extreme cardio then go for it.You will get better each time you do Insanity. Be sure to order from https://www.decidetostayfit.com/shaun-t-insanity so you get your FREE Insanity Fast and Furious work out.
Starting Insanity this week. Nervous, because I weigh 280 lbs and am not in great shape. However, after visiting the gym and working on an elliptical, I’ve found that I’m not in as bad of shape as I thought I was. However, I’m not in great shape either.
I’m just so excited to start and to see if I can maybe get to a point where I’m healthy and enjoy being healthy. I’ve seen the infomercials so many times, and I’ve seen the people say “oh, it was the 12 time that I saw the infomercial that I finally called” and I said to myself, it’s time I do something about this weight, I need to get healthy and I’m going to do something I haven’t tried before. I don’t like having to leave to work out, and I don’t want people watching me while I sweat and work out… this is going to work for me much better. And even if I cannot finish the first few weeks, I’m gonna do my best to make sure that I’ve tried my hardest. Eventually, I’m sure, I’ll be able to finish and stay caught up!
I’ve tried everything I can so far to loose weight(gym memberships, eating health which I always do, liquid diets, eating very little, snacking all day, stop eating a current times ) I just don’t know what do anymore I’m 5’1″ and 200 lbs and I’m starting to have a bad hip problem. So me and my friend started Insanity, trust me neither one of us are in shape. We’re on day two and stuck in out it was very hard but what isn’t when you first start. I’m hoping to get to 135 that 65 lbs any idea how long that might take or how many times I’ll have to do the videos? I’m very determined to lose this weight and will stick this out as long as i have to if it works to reach my goal!!!
@Will You have the right attitude Will… Just do your best and show up every day and you will get results. If you need to take breaks that is ok. Be sure to follow the nutrition guide.
@JaCk13 Everyone is different but 1-2 lbs a week is healthy weight loss. Remember this is not just a 60 day program but a habit you will want to stick with for life. Be sure to follow the nutrition guide as this is where most of your results will come from.
Hey. I’m 17 years old. I weigh about 195 and I’m 5’3. So I’m pretty big:( anyways I did the insanity fit test and did not finish it. I really want to lose weight. Should I continue to do it or should I try p90x. I have the videos but I don’t have an weights or things like that. I don’t want to gain musle just lose weight. Eatting healthy is really hard for me because we go out to eat all the time and I don’t buy my own food. Would love suggestions.
Hi I’m 21 yrs old, 5’5″ and weigh 200lbs. I had a baby 9 months ago. I used to be in shape and was comfortable at 150lbs before. I carry most of my weight in my mid section, love handles and back area. Most people say cardio is the way to go. Is insanity for me even if I haven’t been very active lately? I know what getting into shape calls for, I used to go to the gym regularly ate healthy and even had a triner for a few months when I was in shape. Also I love the idea of losing weight fast but I’m worried about sagging skin in the midsection from the pregnancy.. will that get worse or does working out help tighten the skin? Last question, what would be a great target weight for being 5’5″ and 21yrs of age? Thanks for your help!
Hi . Im a 5’9 , 230ibs female , age 21 . Im trying to drop 60ibs within 7mnths. Im currently a size 15 jr in pants , looking to be a size 9 or 7 in jr pants . I have full confidence in my ability to do Insanity . I do have a few concerns before I decide wether to start this program or not though . Im worried about building bulky muscle , or having sagging skin after from fast weight lose . Im wondering if I should be worried about these issues with this program at my size ?
@Van Insanity is a tough work out but if you are ready for a challenge then you can go for it. I would get the green light from your doctor first and if he/she gives you the ok then you can go for it. Do what you can and take breaks. The 2 most important things will be to show up every day and follow the nutrition plan. If you can do these 2 things then you will get results. As far as sagging skin goes there really is no way to know for sure. Some if that is genetic. Some people will have excess skin and some won’t. To get to a health body weight you ideally would like to have a Body Mass Index between 18.5-24.9 You can get a free account here https://www.decidetostayfit.com/go/free/ and use our free healthy weight calculator to see where you stand.
@Dakota With Insanity you only use your own body weight. There is no equipment needed. With that being said you will not have to worry about getting bulky. Most women never have to worry about this anyway since you would have to spend a considerable amount of time in the gym to get big and bulky. Sagging skin is possible but the health benefits of a healthier lifestyle are worth it. Be sure to follow the Insanity nutrition guide for best results.
@Ashley In order for this to work you need to change your eating habits. This is a must. The eating part of this is more important than the work outs themselves. You could actually use the fit test as your work out for awhile until you can complete it if you want. I would stick with Insanity vs P90X unless you want to purchase some dumbbells or resistance bands.
Hi! I am a 27 year old female – 5’6″ and I currently weigh 221. I started my weight loss journey in early April at 247 pounds and extremely out of shape. I have since purchased an elliptical trainer and generally burn about 500-700 calories per day with using my elliptical and walking/jogging. I consider myself in the early stages of getting into shape. I ordered Insanity a few days ago, but now with reading that you wouldn’t recommend it to “beginners”. Also – I was hoping to see pound loss on the scale, as well as tone and change the appearance of my body. I am scared I made a bad purchase! Please tell me that I won’t be dissapointed!
Hey, I am a 31 year old, and I am currently 5’10” and right at 300 pounds. I am a big guy, but I carry most of my weight in my belly. I have never been small, even as a kid. I was a lineman in highschool, and I can still lift a crap load, but I am way to far out of shape cardiowise. I did a cross fit routine the otherday and I had a very hard time keeping my breath. I want to drop about 75 pounds and I know that will take more than one cycle. Anything I should know before I start?
@Courtney You definitely won’t regret purchasing Insanity as you can always work your way up to it if you feel it is too hard. Also, remember you have a 30 day money back guarantee so you can try it for a few weeks and see what you think. If you don’t like it you can return it.
@John Insanity is extreme cardio. You might want to get the green light from your doctor before starting. Do what you can and take breaks.
I will be starting insanity in two weeks, what do you suggest as exercises to get my body geared up for the insanity challenge. 5’8 240 moderately exercises but i havent the last few months. Help!
@Alexis No matter what most people still find Insanity pretty tough but with that being said you could do some running, sprints, burpees and pushups.
Hey jeff…. touching base…. i have been through slim in six to build my self up to insanity and p90x. Started out @ 415…yep 415 down to 384….. now on to insanity for 2 months…..ready to push play every day…. in high school i was 215 @ 6’4″ and built like a (bsh)lol im am so ready to get in shape one day @ a time…. i will check in from time to time
thanks
rjc Michigan
@rjc Awesome rjc….. Be sure to to let us all know how it is going and you are absolutely right…. 1 day at a time. Insanity is tough but do your best and take breaks when needed!!!
Hi! I’m 18, 5’6″ and around 170. I do have some curves, but a little bit of a belly that I want to lose. I’m trying to get down to about 140. I use to run a mile everyday and I ate three small meals a day along with a small snack in-between. Originally, I lost 8 pounds in two weeks, but I stopped losing after that. I want to be down atleast 25 pounds before I start school again in a little over a month… Is this possible?
Hey I’m 22 I’m 150pounds curious to know if insanity is right for me….I havent been to a gym since I was 16 so 6 years ago and i know I’m extremely out of shape…I would love to able to improve my endurance and flexibly but most important lose my belly fat and bring my weight down to 125…..is this attainable with insanity ?
Hey, I’m 27 and have been doing Insanity for 9 days. I have always had a flat stomach, until my second child was born,I just couldn’t get rid of the flab and it is going on 4 years since she was born. I only have fat on my stomach and I have love handles. I know belly fat is the last to go, but since that’s the only fat I have, will it go quicker?
Thanks
I am 23 years old, 250 lbs, at 5’8″. I just moved to Africa, and will start Insanity tomorrow! I have done Turbo Fire before, but i know that this workout is going to be a lot harder. But I plan to press through, because I am ready to lose weight and get healthy. Because I live in Africa, my food options are quite limited- basically a diet limited to rice, beans, peas, pasta, eggplant, potatoes, and bananas. LOTS OF CARBS. But mostly vegetarian and all natural. Any suggestions?
Hey everyone – just wanted to post a follow up on my first comment. I am now 9 days into Insanity and I AM SO PLEASED! I have not seen a lot of action on the scale (no losing OR gaining) but I can already see – through my fat – some definition in my stomach and sides. Also I have noticed how much more energy and stamina I have while running. It took about 5 or so days of muscle soreness, but that has all subsided and I am enjoying all my Insanity workouts. I feel very accomplished when I finish a workout – it is awesome!
hi im Erika im 22 years old and im 5’7 and 195 pounds and i want to star a new life and i work out but years ago what program do you thing is best for me?
Hey anyone who is out there. I’m 15, weight 250 pounds, am 6 feet tall. Do you think with insanity I could loose 100 pounds over time? I really want this because I’ve been over weight all fo my life. I can run a mile with out stopping and have a lot of fight in me. Can I do it?
I am 33 and 229lbs, at 5’10”. My target weight is 180 and I started Insanity last week and am in Day 7 of exercise. Still at 229 a week in, but wasn’t expecting a miracle. Although I feel like my body is tightening up a bit? Looking forward to the results. Obviously not the best in shape to start the program, but I plan on doing the first month twice before moving on to the second month of the program. I do have to stop and rest a few times.
@Cherie 25 lbs in a month is quite a bit. 8-12 would probably be more realistic is you stick with your work outs and follow the nutrition plan. You don’t want to lose too fast.
@Kayla Yes, you will improve endurance and flexibility with Insanity. You will also burn fat and gain muscle. Sticking to the Insanity nutrition plan will help you with your belly fat.
@Sarah Strictly following the Insanity nutrition plan will most likely be your biggest help to get rid of the remaining belly fat. Stick with your work outs but really focus on the nutrition. Abs are made in the kitchen.
@Rachel I am not a nutritionist but it looks like to me that you will need to add in some more veggies and find a source of lean protein like fish or chicken. Are you following the Insanity nutrition guide?
@Courtney Awesome!!!!!! Stick with and be sure to let us all know how it is going!!!
@Erika If you are just starting out you might want to do a work out that is not as extreme as Insanity. If you like high energy dance move then TurboJam would be a good option to start with https://www.decidetostayfit.com/turbojam if you decide to start with Insanity just be prepared to take breaks in the beginning.
@Sean Get the green light from you doctor before you start but yes you will lose weight with Insanity. The biggest challenge might be changing your eating habits which is a must when you are trying to lose over 100 lbs. YOU CAN DO IT!!!! It all starts with you making the commitment here and now and sticking with it.
@Jeremy Awesome!!! Don’t worry about taking breaks. You are getting stronger every day. Stick with it and your results will come. Be sure to follow the nutrition guide.
Hi I am 36 and well to be honest I’m in pretty bad shape, ok horrible shape. I have been doing Insanity for a little while now and have noticed that it is hard for me. I do push myself but have a hard time getting through a video. I will not give up tho, when I did the fit test, I barely got through the first 5 exercices, now I’m making it further and further into each DVD and keeping up better each time. However I do have an issue with the fitness guide and Shakeology, I am very limited on some foods I can eat(kind of odd I can eat the not so healthy foods and must stay away from greens and liver or anything containing vitamin K) I am on a bloodthinner due to having a genetic issue which causes bloodclots. I am currently on Coumadin, Will not being able to follow the book to a T, or not being able to use Shakeology effect my results?? (I am watching what I eat and staying away from Junk foods).
Ok well basically i am 18 weigh about 220lbs and im about 6’1…i dont plan on following the nutrition guide but i do plan on trying my best on every workout insanity has to offer..i dont really think i am fit but that wont stop me from tryin my best. My question is do you think insanity is the right workout for me since i am not fit…and i also want to try and go for 30-60 min jogs ever morning…do you think i am pushing myself to hard if i do that? Oh and as of right now i am like size 34- 36 pant size and i want to be a 32-34 do you think this workout routine will get me there?
Hi again. Touching base from my first comment. I’m now into my second week of Insanity. So far, i’m down 2 pounds!! I’m starting to notice a bit of definition in my sides. I feel great. My goal for now is 150. 🙂
@Brenda You are in a very unique situation and I would get the help of a nutritionist/dietician if I were you. Let him/her know the type of work out you are doing and what your goals are.
@Oscar Why are you not going to follow the nutrition guide? Abs are made in the kitchen my friend. If you eat bad it won’t matter how much working out you do.
If you are not fir then jogging and doing Insanity will probably be to much to start with. I would choose 1 or the other and then work your way up to it.
@Cherie AWESOME!!!!! Keep “Diggin Deep” every day. Consistency will get you to where you want to be.
Hi Jeff, first i want to give you my respect that you are still talking to people for so long. My name is Kai, 32 and i am from Holland in Europe.
I am 5ft6 and 220lbs. My bodytype is between mesomorph and endomorph, so although i am 220lbs i dont look very fat cause of the wide build the fat its spread, but i do look overweight cause i am ahaha
Now, for the last 12 years i was a heavy smoker of tobacco and weed, last couple years heavy drinker and used some hd in the past and on top of that i ate really really bad and inregular. You dont even want to know how bad my stamina is.
Last weekend i decided to stop with all of the above, changed my dieet and past mondey i started with insanity. So i did the fitness test, bro, i thaught my heart would burst out of my chest followed by my lungs, anyway my third day now, i can barely walk, my muscles are aching but im happy.I cant keep up ofc with my stamina but thats ok, i take rest to catch my breath and try to keep up again.
I also do hiphop abs in the mornings to keep my muscles busy.
I can see my stomache line if i tight up, ofc i dont see my abs but i know i got bigger abs then a ectomorph under that cuddlemeat so that keeps me motivated.
My dieet concist out of 5 times a day, in de mornings i either eat oatmeal with skin milk(ugh) and sometimes i start the day of with eggs, as snacks i usually have tomatoes, bananas, fish, as meal a salad, or fish, turkey meat and dinner brown rice or yams, chicken or turkey breast, green veggies and before i go to bed i take something we call magere kwark, they dont have that in the states,it has no taste, no fat but alot of eggwhite. It looks like white yoghurt but much thicker and healthier
It’s hard to hold on cause i failed so much in the past but this time i will make it, so for the other people that are in a shit form, if i can do you, you can do it for sure!!
Peace
Kai
(sorry for any grammatical faults, english not my native tongue 🙂 )
What i forgot to mention on the dieet, i only drink water and green tea all day.
Go for it people!
Much respect
Kai
@Dutch Kai Great to see that you have decided to make some changes in your life. That is our motto- DECIDE. COMMIT. SUCCEED The key to this is consistency. If you can stick with it you will reach your goals. Hopefully your post here will also inspire someone else to get started and change their life too. Be sure to let us all know how it’s going.
Sure, i bookmarked this place, sticking with it is the hardest thing, i already feel the withdrawal from the tabacco, alcohol and bad food, find it also hard to stick with the workout because it feels awful being healthy haha but i must persevere.
I am 205 lbs and about 5’7″ , 29 years old
i started insanity workout from 3 days but i fill so tired after each
workout. and i stop a lot during the workout
i have a little big stomach
what i can do
Dont give up, i am 5’7 and 220, and felt very tired and i take many breaks during the workout cause i smoked for 16 years, you dont need to keep up with the people on the dvd but you do need to give your best when you can.
I felt very very tired but i am ok now, this is my 6th day on insanity.
Be sure you eat well an hour, hour and a half before your workout cause you will need the energy.
@Mina Just keep doing what you can. If you have to take breaks that is ok. Trust me, you are getting better every day.
Thanks a lot
but i have another question
what is the preferable time to make the insanity workout ?
I do it last 3 days early at the morning i didn’t eat anything before it , i eat my breakfast after it
Hi! I purchased Insanity last week, and I began yesterday with the fitness test. I currently weight 251, and I wear a DD bra. When I tried the jumps, my boobs were not my friend. Do you recommend anything? I want to use a wrap (that you would put on your knee if hurt) to keep them from moving as much, but will that affect my breathing?
@Keonna One of the things I have seen many women do is to wear 2 sports bras. They have said this helps a ton. I guess you could try the wrap but I wouldn’t go too tight and I think the 2 sports bras are a better option. Keep in mind I am a man and going by what others have said so you have to do what is comfortable for you.
Thanks Jeff! 2 sport bras sound better.
@Keonna No problem!! Be sure to let us know how it works out!
I can run/jog without stopping for at least five miles will I be able to somewhat keep up with the insanity workouts?
what i do if i miss one day or 2 days ?
@Mina If you miss a day once in awhile don’t sweat it just don’t make it a habit. If you miss 2 or more days in any given week then you should repeat that week.
Hey Jeff. Kai here
Busy with my 3rd week now, so far i can tell there is a huge difference in stamina compared to when i started and just quitted smoking, i have less and less of my own breaks during a session
However i am struggling with something, due too that i broke both my color bones in the past and the weight i momentarely are carrying everything pushup related is nearly impossible to do at this moment any suggestions for a alternative?
Cheers
@Dutch Kai Here is a week 3 Insanity message for you from Shaun T http://youtu.be/PG3-UakZXxE Glad to here you have quit smoking. You will feel even better now!!! Have you tried doing the push ups from your knees??? This will help.
@Dutch Kai and if you decide you want Shakeology just click on the Shakeology tab and the top of the page.
If you do the pushups from the knees you cant do the combo’s that come with em either.
Thanks I am now in the last day of week 2 I fell better and i fell a lot of my muscles are grows up but..
i starting insanity with 205 lbs now i am about 200 to 202 lbs
is this good and normal ?
@Dutch Kai If you can;t do regular push ups then you don’t have much of a choice. Just do your best and do what you can but do not risk an injury.
@Mina Is your goal to lose weight?? There are actually people who gain weight in the first 2 weeks. Check out this post https://www.decidetostayfit.com/why-am-i-gaining-weight-while-doing-shaun-ts-insanity-work-out There are a lot of factors that go along with this such as if the person is following the meal plan, are they eating at enough of a caloric deficit, drinking enough water etc. If you are following the Insanity meal plan you will be fine. After 4-5 weeks you can re-evaluate and see how you feel and maybe you can shrink your portion sizes a little as long as you still have the energy to complete your day and your work outs.
Hi guys, I read this because i want to start insanity(hopefully soon!) my boyfriend lent it to me upon my request. its the end of the summer and ive been working out on the eliptical machine for 2hours a day, id say 4-5 times a week. im around 190 and im 18 years old 5’6′ female’. What im worried about is the fact that i cant really even do a push up, and im worried that if i dont see results itll break my heart. Ive been struggling to reach my goal for a very very long time and i just want to be in the average bmi for my age and height, i hate loooking at charts and them telling me that im overweight. I need to lose body fat and i need the motivation to do it, but if i can summon up the willpower and motivation can i really pull this off?, am i ready physically?
PS. is it right for lossing body fat, especially in my belly and lovehandles,my thighs, and upper arms?
Hello, I have started insanity two timws doing three weeks each becuse i get discouraged by not seeing any results for the most part i believe I’ve been fluctuating with losing water weight and then it comes right bck. i have had my thitd child 10 months ago and I blew up even after having her i am 40 pds overweight before i was fit working out often and losing weight was never a problem and I never was on the five six meal a day but ate pretty ok. now appetite has changed from the pregnancy. its hard to even eat five to six meals and i breastfeed. the last six months i have tried a trainer for 2 1/2 months it was intense workouts and quit cause i didnt lose anything maybe a pd here and there and now sometimes i feel that i just dont look as swollen but my prego clothes still fit tight. HELP I just want my body back. I’m wondering becuse i’m breastfeeding my weight is stagnant but they say its suppose to help u lose. i did with my other children now the fat is fighting me and i’ve never been this big. i dont know what to do.
i am in 3 week (fit test day ) but i am sick now and doctor tell me that i have to take rest at the bed for 2 days cause i have a pain stomach
what i will do when i will be fine
Hello, my name is McKenna and I am 15 years old/ 116 lbs / 5′ 1″.
I want to try Insanity, mostly because I have a small stomach pudge. I have spent about 20-30 min reading all of these success stories and I am willing to try it.
If anyone can answer this, will I loose my curves with these workouts to make me look “bulky”?
I have lost a few pounds with just running and ab workouts and you can somewhat start to notice my curves. So will it just make my curves stand out more if I loose my stomach fat or will it just make me kind of have a squared shape?
I have seen several pictures of women who have just like a squared shaped body after Insanity but does it all depend on the physique of the person?
@Courtney If you have been working out 2 hrs a day 4 days a week then you are ready to go for Insanity. I understand that you can’t do a push up and that is even more of a reason you need to start to mix up your work outs and gain some strength. You will need to take breaks but just do your best and follow the Insanity nutrition guide.
@herprice You need to find something you like and stick with it. 2-3 weeks is not enough time to see big changes. You have to give it (depending on your work out) at least 60 days. 90 days you will seen even better results.
@Mina After you are feeling better just repeat the last week you didn’t complete and keep going.
@McKenna Everyone is different and it depends on what you are starting with. I can tell you you will get in great shape and burn some body fat while building some muscle so if this is your goal then Insanity is for you.
Im looking into starting insanity…My weight in May 2012 was 285 I started going to boot camp and within a two month frame I lost 23 lbs, I was getting up at 4am for workouts and I felt like a zombie although I was pleased with my results!! Im 28 and a single mother, so I look forward to being able to do the workouts at home.. My main motivation is my sons future…because well I want to be in it. I will try and post an update with my results after I start. Hoping to receive workout and start next week!!!
Hello, I’m looking for some advice. I’m 5’6, 178 lbs but am very disappointed. I’m on my 6th week, day 5 of insanity and it is intense, never pushed myself so hard before but I’m loving it. I originally stared out at 180 lbs and haven’t really lost any weight, I’ve merely been fluctuating around the 180-178 lb mark and it’s very frustrating… I decided to get back into shape at the beginning of this year and slowly started exercise briefly every week by jog/walking every 2 days working my way up to longer distances. I was loving it because I could feel my lung capacity increasing and by mid June, I was down from 199 to 180 and was very happy. Sadly, I soon realized that my I hit my weight plateau and spoke to some friends and they advised me that I should get a more intense workout to break that barrier, so I decided to give insanity a try. I then started insanity and though hard, I was determined. I could feel more energy in me and felt great but I don’t seem to be losing weight, though it does seem I’ve lost some inches. I don’t follow the nutritional plan but do follow a set of healthy guidelines. Any advice?
@Maria Awesome!!!! It all starts with your decision for change. I applaud you for taking charge of your health and fitness. Be sure to let us know how it’s going.
@David The Insanity nutrition plan is a big part of the program. it makes sure you get the right mix of protein, carbs, veggies and fats. Also, inches lost is a good thing as this is progress. Sometimes the scale doesn’t show how far you have come. Make sure your calorie count is right and I would suggest keep a food journal. https://www.decidetostayfit.com/double-your-weight-loss-while-doing-p90x-insanity-turbofire-or-any-work-out
Stick with it. Your results will come.
Hi there! I’m seriously thinking of starting the insanity workout, I’m 5’9″ and weigh 258lbs. I have started jogging/walking 4 miles a day, I’m able to jog 2 miles without stopping. Would you say my cardio fitness level is descent to start the insanity workout?? I’ve heard of how intense it gets, and I’ve seen the testimonials on TV, people who do it don’t seem to be overweight as I am.
@Marco No one is ever really ready for Insanity but just remember, it is challenging and you can take breaks. If you are ready for the next level then Insanity is for you. Don’t forget to order from https://www.decidetostayfit.com/shaun-t-insanity so you get your FREE Insanity Fast and Furious work out.
I’m going to be 20 at the end of October & I’m 5’10 & 219 pounds, I used to wrestle forever ago & I’d like to get back to how I looked then. But I haven’t worked out since then & I was wondering if Insanity would be good for me. My cousin was doing it when I went to florida & he was looking great!! The other thing though, I have asthma & normally it isn’t active but about a month or so ago I was painting 140 apartments with my mom & her company & going as hard and long as I went. They were 12 hrs days & it reactivated my asthma. So would it still be wise to do Insanity? I really want to lose the weight & I about 60-70% positive I can stick with it, I just want to make sure I can.
@brandon If you are looking for a challenge then Insanity would be great for you. I would have to say to check with your doctor regarding your asthma since this is extreme cardio and will most like be the hardest cardio you have ever done. If you follow the nutrition guide and stick to your work outs you will get results.
Hii
I do insanity for 4 weeks I am now at the recovery week .
Sure I feel different my body shape changed , I can see now some new musules and my stomac decrease about 5 cm but really I feel so tired
And I have pain in my knees both of them is this normal ? For now
@Mina Re you following the nutrition guide? If you are not getting enough calories then you will feel drained. I am happy to here that you have lost some cm’s and built some new muscle.
If these types of exercises are new for you then yes, it is normal to experience some soreness in your knees and over your whole body for that matter. With that being said always listen to your body and if you have to tone down your moves for awhile and modify then do so. You do not want to risk an injury.
I am 14 i weigh 175 lbs and I am in no shape what so ever I want and am willing to do Insanity. I am willing to work hard. Do you think i should do it?
@Herman Check with your parents and then get the green light from your doctor and then if they say OK then go for it!!!
hi
i am now in week 6 and really i feel changed in my body shape specially at my core but from this week this workout are being so hard
and when i did some exercises i saw my body shaking so hard in some positions is this ok ?
and i take this week a lot of breaks so i feel foil .
@Mina Shaking is ok but listen to your body and take breaks when you need to. Great job, keep it up!!!
HEY THER JEFF OCHOA, SO IM 5’10 265lbs. im kinda stocky as i been told, so i’m not all fat i guess, i was wondering if i should start this work out? i’m very motivated to loose weight and get that stamina going.. what do you recommend for beginners??
@Ace If you have read any of my others comments I don’t recommend Insanity as someone’s first workout. It is very intense and you might only make it through the warm up. Insanity is extreme cardio. Yes you can modify it and take breaks but you might want to start out with something like https://www.decidetostayfit.com/10minutetrainer and then move on to Insanity.
I’m a 30 yr old and I just quiet smoking this week. I’ve smoked for almost ten years and I was wondering would Insanity be okay for me. I’m not out of shape but I’m not in shape either.
@Gwen I enjoyed speaking with you today about Insanity and I look forward to our call later regarding your challenge pack.
hi i had a baby 2 years ago and i want to find a way where i can looose my bellyfat/loose skin..not alot but enough. Is insanity the way to go i dont want to loose to much weight. BUT MORE LIKE GET TONED AND LOOSE THIS STOMACH OF MINE. THANKS IN ADVANCE:)
@Christyanna You will definitely burn some fat with Insanity. Loose skin is sometime another story though. Sometimes it just takes time after pregnancy for it to go away and on some people it really never goes away. If you follow the nutrition plane you will be more toned with a tighter core after Insanity.
hi everyone, I just wanted to say these comments and responses have encouraged me. I am 33 5’4″ and was at my biggest ever a year ago , prob around 270 lbs. im short and that was a lot of weight but im very well proportioned..so I have a lot of butt hips thighs and brrast. I started insanity back in nov 2011 and i did it off and off for about a few months and weny down about 20 something pounds bc I was at 245 when I weighed myself in last june. I again kept doin it off and on but now , oct 2012, im doidn it everyday and even with breaks, meanin not doin any workout for weeks, im noticing I can do more of the wormout longer 🙂 I weighed myself recently and it said 251 but im ok with that bc I wasnt consistent, so thats good for falling off. I will say two sports bras is def what I needed bc I am heavy chested but I noticed now I still wear two bras for the snuggness but ive lost in mu breast, my love handles are shaving down and my stomach. im excited to keep goin and this is all from just doin the first set of dvds. keep pushing and results will come. I also do walka away the pounds for the abs by leslie sansone.
@Crystale That is awesome!!!! Keep pushing no matter what. Now it is time to complete the full 60 days the way the plan is laid out. If you lost 20 lbs just by doing Insanity off and on imagine your results if you stuck with it for the full 60 day. We are trying to create life long habits here. Exercise is key component. Make it a habit, your body will thank you. 🙂 Are you following the nutrition plan??
I have a question. I’m 16 and I weigh about 143-145 and I’m 5’7-5’8 I started insanity again, but I always feel so drained that I can never complete the workout. I started like a few days ago, but I’m so tired so I stopped. Is there any tips on how I can pull through in order do it everyday? What should I do?
Because I really want to get that 60 day body. Thanks!
Ok so will I loose a lot of weight Sony want to be to skinny..and as far as my loose skin I kow just by looking at my stomach when I suck in…if anything do you also know of gilads core workout if thats good..
No I am not familiar with that core workout.
@Jake Insanity is an extreme workout so it is going to wear you out. Are you following the nutrition guide? Eating correctly is very important and will account for a lot of your results and help give you the energy you need to complete the workouts. I would also check out https://www.decidetostayfit.com/shakeology/doctors-and-shakeology which has helped others with energy levels.
I am a 55 year old woman who wants to lose fat and weight, tone up and improve my cardio. In winter, I ride my bike on rollers about 3-4 days a week for an hour. Also light weights/core 2-3 days a week. In good weather, I ride 30 miles about 3 times a week with a longer ride on the weekends. Is Insanity right for me?
@Cecille I am sure you are in pretty good shape from riding your bike but I would suggest getting the green light from your doctor before you start. These workouts are high intensity so your heart rate will be elevated for most of the workout. Better safe than sorry. Insanity will definitely improve your cardio, help you shed some fat and tone up. Be sure to get your Insanity at https://www.decidetostayfit.com/shaun-t-insanity so you get your free “Fast and Furious” workout.
Hi, I was on day 11 of insanity with 11 lbs down, I got sick and stopped. I have not started back up again because when I tried my chest was really hurting(Today makes it 11 days that I have been off it and still have cough). I was wondering when I do restart should I start at the beginning or continue where I left off?
@ac Personally, I would start over. After being sick and missing 11 day it will most likely feel like you are starting over anyway. Be sure to make sure you are back to 100% before you get going again.
Thanks!
@ac No Problem…. I also sent you a facebook request.
Hi im 22 weigh about 11 stone bmi is about 22-24 i think i wii says im average and not over weight yet i look fat an have flab i went to the gym bt didnt see results im not sure why if im not overweight i look fat
Will this help me im also a fussy eater but i dont really eat junk food.
Also is swimming good for weight loss or just a myth
hi im kay im about 90 95 kgs im planning on starting insanity workout…….i dont want any abs jus wanna lose my body fat can i do it within 2 months im also in my college powerlifting team does tat help me going into the workouts??????
hi im kay im about 90 95 kgs im kind of stocky planning on starting insanity workout…….i dont want any abs jus wanna lose my body fat can i do it within 2 months im also in my college powerlifting team does tat help me going into the workouts??????
@kay Insanity will help you burn body fat but you are doing 2 things that bring different results. Power lifting is opposite of extreme cardio. You might find your lifting a little more difficult if doing Insanity at the same time but if you do decide to tackle Insanity it will help you burn some fat.
@Simon Yes Insanity will help you lose fat. Try and follow the nutrition plan as well for best results. Yes, swimming is also a great exercise!!!
Good evening,
I am 50 and about 100# overweight and get bored just walking a treadmill. I am prior military and I can go up a couple flights of stairs no problem as I do that all day. Should I start with Insanity or the P90X as I have heard good things about both. Will they help so I can again run 10k’s and possibly marathons?
Hi y’all, I’m 21 and I weight around 144lbs. I used to train with a personal trainer and spinning class plus swimming a year ago. My physical stamina was great thanks to the spinning class. Now I want to start Insanity workout (coz it doesnt require any equipments and I’m a student living in a dorm) but i haven’t done anything physical for more than a year. Should I just go ahead and start off since I have the background or should I do something else to prepare my body?
Thanks in advance and happy 2013! hope we will all lose weight and gain confidence this year!!
@Walt First thing you need to do is get the green light from your doctor for extreme cardio. With that being said Insanity is tough and you will most likely have to take some breaks. So if you won’t get frustrated because you can’t keep up and your doctor says it is ok then give it a shot. Be sure to order at at https://www.decidetostayfit.com/shaun-t-insanity so you get your FREE Insanity Fast and Furious DVD.
@Amy Insanity is tough. You could do some running to prepare for it but since you are not extremely over weight you could probably get started. You will probably have to take some breaks but just do what you can. Be sure to order at https://www.decidetostayfit.com/shaun-t-insanity so you get your FREE Insanity Fast and Furious DVD.
Hi, I’m looking at all these posts and everyone says they’re like 210 and whatnot. But, they aren’t cursed with the genetic crappiness that I have. I only weigh 135 but I’m also only 5′ tall (generously). I am very athletic but I have always been chubby, I’m in training for long distance in track right now and was wondering if Insanity was more of a cardio or a leg workout because calf exercise would be great (abs are nice too but aren’t as important to my training) I have a mandatory gym class I’m taking but we don’t focus on running at all, we just bench press the whole time, so I have some cardio stamina. Bottom line, I’m not looking to lose drastic amounts of weight but will this help me shave off a few inches and whip me into shape for track season?
@Dj Yes I believe Insanity will help you lose those unwanted inches and get you ready for track season.
Iam 40 years old, mother of four, 5.2 and weigh 160lbs. its my third week on insanity. i can do all the work outs with very few breaks. i have not lost any weight but can see that my cloths have started to fit better now. i want to ask that somtime i eat less than required calories,if that’s ok. and also if i have one big meal can i skip other one to balance the colories.
@Eliza You should be ok if you are eating a little less calories as long as your energy levels are still high. Remember, those calories are your energy to complete your workouts. I would definitely not eat 1 big meal and skip another. You want to try and balance out your day with food. I would try and stick to the Insanity Nutrition guide.
Thanks Jeff. Today is my last day of week three and I am following Nutrition guide most of the time, but so far, no weight lose, not even one lbs. Is this normal?
After first month should i continue or repeat the first month before advancing to second month.
@Eliza I get this question a lot when people first start Insanity. Yes this is normal for some and sometimes people even gain a couple pounds. This post best explains why https://www.decidetostayfit.com/why-am-i-gaining-weight-while-doing-shaun-ts-insanity-work-out
You should continue on to the 2nd month. Remember, after your initial 60 days you could always repeat the whole 60 days or just the 2nd phase.
Im 24 im a female I weight at 240 and is insanely for me cause I have the videos and I try them n I can do it buthow ofen do I try ???
@maria I am not exactly sure what your question is but all you have to do is follow the order on the workout schedule and you will know what workout to do on what day.
I weigh 250 pounds and Im on day 5. It is tough, very tough. But I love it. I push myself as hard as I can, but I know my limits. I had started Insanity before but had to stop due to surgery. I had done it for 2 weeks and saw some results that I has happy about.
@Jon Awesome Jon….. Happy to hear that you love Insanity. Stick with it and be sure to come back and let us all know how it’s going!!!!
Hi, I’m 24 yrs old. I’m 6’2″ I used to weigh 427 lbs and March 9th of 2012 was the last time I saw that weight. I currently weigh 298 lbs and are on pace to lose another 40 lbs by March 14th. I was just wondering what would be a good weight to start insanity?
@Juan First I want to says congrats on your current weight loss, that’s awesome!!!! I really don’t think there is a good weight to start Insanity because it is hard no matter what. As you can see from the previous comments people have started Insanity at all different weights. The main thing I would like to see you do is get the green light from your doctor to start an extreme cardio program. You will be pushing max heart rates and it is best to be on the safe side with a check up or complete physical. Be sure to stay in touch and let us know how it is going!!! Keep up the awesome work and once again, congrats!!! Be sure to order from https://www.decidetostayfit.com/shaun-t-insanity so you can get your FREE Insanity Fats and Furious workout.
Thank you, I will definitely take your advice.
Hi, I am a 29 y.o woman i am 6f 3″ and i weigh 260 pounds…i am working to lose 60 to 70 lbs.
So far i have started spinning for 1 hr 3x a week, which is awesome and i also do 30 mins strength training, lost 13 lbs in January.
Hubby wants to start Insanity on monday and i am excited. should i do insanity according to schedule (on mornings) and still do my 4 days a week of gym?
Taking vitamins etc to avoid burnout…also taking Lipo 6!!!!!!!!! yikes!!!!
Hi!
I’m 20 years old and weigh 172 lb, 5’5″. I have read a lot about the insanity workout and it got me very motivated to start working out, I did my first one yesterday. My cardio isn’t that good and I had to pause the fitness test video at 15 minutes and was out of breath. I had to take a very long breath, and could barely do a few of the reset of the workout. Should I be continuing with the insanity work out? If so, should I repeat the fitness test until my numbers are near Tonya’s starting numbers before continuing?
@js (I also sent this to your email)Insanity is tough and most people have to take breaks. As long as you doctor has given you the green light I would say to do you best and take breaks when needed. You will improve every time you do a workout. Don’t worry about Tonya’s :-)numbers. It might take you awhile to get there but that is ok, just commit to show up every day and do your best.
I am 6’3″ 265 pounds I want to slim down and build some muscle (Less flabby). Right now I am in the worst shape I have ever been, and am considering starting this program. Is this the right program or can you suggest some others I can benefit from?
I am on my second week of insanity and it is very hard, but i try to push myself just past that point my body says no more and break then get right back at it. I read the diet plan and it says to either try a low carb or low calorie diet so I have been doing a 2000 calorie diet and drinking a protein shake of the morning and on after my workout of the evening. My results so far is great! I have lost 10 lbs. I started at 220 now at 210 and most of all during the day I cant wait to get my workout started!
@Brian Awesome my friend….. Keep “Diggin Deep” and be sure to let us all know how it’s going.
Hey guys… I’m Jack and am 27 – 224lbs – 5’11 and out of shape! In high school (about 10 years ago), I was 170lbs. I bought Insanity over the weekend because I want to make a change! I have been slowly gaining weight and have reached my limit. A girl I work with (with no filter) told me how fat I am and also said, shouldn’t my wife be gaining weight since she is pregnant, and not me. That hurt so bad to hear but was the motivational push I needed. I went out last weekend and bought healthy foods, cutting back on carbs and sweets. Loaded up on the fruits and veggies.
I started the workout yesterday 3/25/13 and was dying. But I took the breaks I needed and drank plenty of water. I think I am going to like it! I appreciate reading everyone elses inspirational comments and I will be sure to check back in!
@Brian – FYI we are right on the same track.. keep us posted!
Hi, I am a 177 lb 30 year old woman. I lost 50 pounds over the last two years when I began a very physically demanding job. I plateaued in the 170’s when I quit smoking last fall and I have been unable to get over the hump and start losing again. I want to start the Insanity workout next week, but I’m a little apprehensive because of the warnings that the workout is not for beginners. I am not currently on a serious workout regimen, but I am extremely active at work for 10-12 hours a day. I continue to build muscle and increase flexibility every day, so I wouldn’t consider myself a beginner. Do you think Insanity is worth a try for me?
I am a 25 year old male. Will be 26 in August. I weigh 265 pounds. I can run around the track several times, well jog without stopping. I just want to lose my stomach. I don’t have a problem with my weight, I just want to be cut up like Shawn T. I want to get right for this up coming summer. Is there any record of someone my weight doing the workout? losing weight, getting cut? I always see the commercial on TV. However, I don’t see any big people in any of the workout shows, just persons that are already in shape. I really want to give this a try. Does this actually work before I spend my ,money on the DVD. Will I actually see results like it says on TV? Do I need to take any special weight loss pills with this workout??
@Sean B Yes, Insanity works and you will get results. I would love to chat with you so feel free to click on the “contact us” tab at the top and give me a ring. We have Insanity Challenge pack on sale this month and I have an Insanity Challenge group starting on 4-25-13. Give me a ring and I can fill you in on all the details.
Ok so I am now in my 2nd week. I lost 4 lbs and am feeling good, down to 220 now. I feel like I am starting to complete a little more of the workouts as a progress, but of course its stll very tough. My only problem is… my feet are killing me during and after the workout. I am wearing aesic sneakers. Has anyone else had this problem?
Any other suggestions? Thanks!
@Jack You might need a new pair of shoes or you might need some inserts. Might be time to see the foot doctor. Personally I like Asics and I also wear Mizuno’s.
@EVERYONE ON THIS THREAD. I am starting an Insanity challenge group on 4-29-13 which is a Monday. Will have a group on facebook for support, motivation and daily messages. So if you have started and never finished, looking to do another round or would just love to meet some other Insaniacs then this challenge group is the place to be.This group will help you stay accountable and help your results. Click on the “Contact Us” tab at the top of the page and give me a ring or send me an email and I will give you all the details. Time to “DIG DEEP”.
The backgrounds, histories, and personal challenges that so many people have faced and chosen to take control of on this thread is truly motivational. I will begin my steps on Monday, May 13th, 2013. Cancer created a Life Changing Milestone for me in 2009 and forever changed certain things in my life, some good, some bad. It is now my turn to create my own Life Milestone and make my own rules on where I progress to next. Life can, and will, always throw events at you that make you want to stop and question everything. But you can also push back and say, “No, Today is my turn to decide what my life will become. Today I will decide what my next Life Milestone will be.” To all whom have provided their backgrounds and reasons for taking on the Insanity challenge, thanks, I believe I have read all of them now. PS> I am starting at 41 yrs, 5’11”, 245 lbs, previous competitive athlete, professional career holder (50hrs/wk) and a 21 month old baby girl in the mix. See you in the coming weeks!!!
@Bill S Change does not happen over time. Change happens in an INSTANT!!! The second you DECIDE, you have put the process in motion. These next 60 days will challenge you and will put you on your way to that next milestone. I am 41 too and I am in the best shape of my life thanks to Beachbody workouts. Be sure to let us all know how it is coming!!!
Hello Everyone, after ordering the DVDs for my husband 2 years ago, today is going to be my first day of trying it. I’m 27 years old, 5’9 in height, and weigh 314 pounds. Luckily, I don’t look as if I weight that much. This is the heaviest that I’ve ever been. About a 1.5 years ago, I weighed 215, but due to some medical issues, my weight ballooned up. I was currently doing a different beach body fitness program, but I had a dream that what I was suppose to be doing was Insanity and I woke up the other day knowing that Insanity was what I should be doing to get my body back to a healthier state. I chose today as being my start date and I’ve been so excited that I could hardly sleep last night. So, good luck to me and good luck to everyone else doing this program. I’ll check in soon with how I’m doing.
@Veronica Awesome!!! Be sure to take breaks when needed and stick with it. Be sure to let us know how it is going!!! 🙂 Also, be sure to grab your free account here https://www.decidetostayfit.com/go/free/ if you haven’t already. When you do, send me a message and I can add you to our private facebook group!
Hello everyone! I’m on day two of the insanity program and its very intense and I basically have to stop every so otfen. I’m 5’7 and weigh 230. Does anyone know even though I stop so often will I lose weight? And I am also not doing the nutrition plan but trying to eat little portions but more frequent.
@Mat Just stick with it, take breaks and do what you can. Remember, you are burning calories even when you take breaks. Stick with it and you will be doing it with out breaks in no time. I would also suggest following the Insanity nutrition guide. Be sure to let us all know how it’s going!!
Hello! I would like to start insanity to get into shape and lose 20 lbs. My problem is that I have arthritis in my wrist, but I have the “go ahead” from my doctor. I cannot do some workouts (i.e. push-ups or planks) although I really want to. Any advice on what to do?
@Sam There are a lot of push ups and planks in Insanity but you could always plank on your elbows and do push ups from your knees to take some of the stress off of your wrists. Be sure to take breaks when needed and listen to your body.
@Jeff… Wow dude, 2 years and still replying strong. Thanks for all the insight.
Ok so I’m into my 2nd week of Insanity. I’m about 5’10, 225lbs. Before this, I’ve always had a hard time sticking to any routine. I have not really exercised in about 7 months. This is the 3rd time I give Insanity a try after giving up way to easily the first 2 attempts. I am as committed as ever to getting it done this time. I’m going into it with a different mindset, without the frustration of not being able to get through the workouts as well as the “machines” on the videos. Only 9 days into it and I’m already feeling I can keep up better than the first few days. I still take breaks of course… It’s hard to even get through half the warm up for me.
Now here’s probably my biggest hurdle… Half way through the warm up I get this excruciating pain in my outer right calf (my left as well but it’s tolerable) as well as on the bottom of my feet. I can’t keep myself balanced during the stretches because that area is just on fire, unless I let off it from time to time. This makes me take way too many breaks. When it’s really bad, I get a lump right at the site of the pain, about 6-8 inches above the outer ankle bone. I’ve heard of shin splints but I’m not sure this is it. Any advise or information on this problem? Is it just something I need to work out after being out of shape for so long?
@Elvis Happy to hear you are giving Insanity another go!!! 🙂 Don’t worry about the “machines”, just do you best and take breaks when needed. Every day you will get stronger and stronger and before you know it you will be keeping up with all of them.
When people start Insanity they get all kinds of aches and pains that that haven’t felt before. This is because you are starting something new. Try stretching out those calves before you work out real good and make sure you are drinking enough water throughout the day so you are not dehydrated. Be sure to listen to your body, if you are in pain you need to stop. The lump is a little concerning and if it doesn’t go away in the next few days I would consult with your doctor.
Would love to have you in our accountability group. I’m 30 years old and I weight 250 pounds my goal is to lose 150 pounds and my problem is that i dont know if I could start doing insanity cause im to big and I know that right now I dont the condition to do it the right way also I feel like I have back and knee problems because of my over way. Should use insanity or not??
Hey, I’m about to start insanity for a second time, the first time I only finished the first month, are there any pointers to help me get through both months and lose weight? Oh btw I’ve cut out soda in my diet, I’m trying to drink more water and cut out fast food.
@Shelly Best thing to do is to commit and not let anything get in your way or your workout. Are you following the nutrition plan?? This is very important. Are you finding the workouts too long? Shaun T just came out with Focus T25 which consists of 25 minutes workouts 5 days a week. I am starting a T25 Challenge group on 7-15-13 if you are interested. All you would need is a T25 Challenge pack. https://www.decidetostayfit.com/store-home/shaun-t-focus-t25 Any questions just let me now.
Hi I’ve been doing insanity for the first time and I’ve struggled at timesbut iI kept digging in when I was capable I’m 27 and I started with 220lbs and during the first month I probably lost about 5lbs total but I felt better and my stomach seem to be going down and I was starting to see my abs a little. Then was the recovery week and now I have almost completed the first week of month 2 and I tell u, I would be doing these max intervals and I might need an extra breather an while living there in my sweat I would say does thus make sense but then again I’m already doing it let me finish. Yesterday was my max recovery and today b4 my workout I weighed myself and saw I am now weighing 200lbs and I couldn’t believe it. I mean I find I look the same but the weight change was unbelievable and it’s empowering, I had to call my grandma to double check the scale. So what I wanna say to anyone and everyone is no matter if ur not seeing a big difference in this workout don’t give up “dig deeper” and push. Advice: DONT KEEP CHECKING THE SCALE. It had already planned on doing this workout for 6 months (3 times) so friends follow Shaun T’s instructions and we can do this….. Thanks for all the comments above it helped me and I hope I can help someone too
@Dam Inspiring story!! Love hearing this kind of stuff. Keep up the great work and be sure to let us know how it is going!!
Hello I’m 21 m and havnt worked out In years.
I’m 5 9 and weigh about 190. I’ve been doing insanity for two days now
And was wondering if I can’t keep up with all the workouts should I start
Running instead and pick it back up at a later point?
@David Insanity is tough and you are not alone. Just modify and do what you can. You will get better over the coming weeks.
Hello I’m 30 years old weigh 209 pounds and 172 cm height i do insanity for 2 weeks but i feel Acidity in work out and after it for a while is this normal ?
@Mina I’m not sure what you mean when you say you feel acidity??
I am currently on day five of insanity let me just say I did not do anything before this I just sat on a couch watching tv I’m 5 ft 4 in tall and weigh 186 lbs I am absolutely loving the intensity of these workouts I love being drenched in sweat after each workout is great and the shaky feelings my muscles have after each workout is awesome lol I’m hoping to lose at least 30 pounds without changing my eating habits wish me luck
