How Long are the P90X Workouts?
So you are thinking about tackling P90X but you need to know what kind of time commitment will be involved and how long are the P90X workouts. Well I am going to give you a list of all the P90X workouts and the length of time to complete each one so you know what you are getting yourself into.
One thing to remember is P90X is a 90 day workout program that requires you to workout a minimum of 6 days a week and you can rest on day 7 or do P90X Stretch X. If you are wondering what do do after your 90 days of P90X, you can read this post. Hopefully you already have a good fitness base since P90X is not a beginner workout.
One important note. You have to decide your are going to complete this 90 days with P90X. You have to commit to it in order to get the best results. A quick tip that will increase your success rate is to complete your workout first thing in the morning. Statistically you will have a better chance of getting it done since there will be no surprises or after work appointments to get in your way. If you think you want to try it or do one workout here and one there then I would say wait until you are in a better frame of mind. Doing 90 days of P90X is just the beginning of what you can do.
Another important thing to remember. 3 days a week you will also be doing Ab Ribber X. You will add it on after your workout of the day which will usually be between 52 and 58 minutes. So when you looking at your schedule leave yourself about and hour and 15 minutes just to be on the safe side. Once you get through the 1st week you will see how the schedule, works. On Yoga X day leave yourself about 93 minutes. Yes, it’s hard but you will get stronger every day.

How long does P90X take to see results?
There is a saying in the fitness world. It goes something like this. It take 4 weeks for you to notice a change. It takes 8 weeks for your friends to notice your change. It takes 12 weeks for the rest of the world to notice your change. I feel this pretty much holds true with P90X as well. In 4 weeks you will notice changes.
Be sure you take your before pics and measurements as the scale will not always show the true picture. I have had people who barely lost any weight sometimes but looked totally different at the end of their 90 days.
How many days a week is P90X?
P90X can be a 6-7 day a week program. You have the option to wrap up your week with P90X Stretch X or you can just rest. It is totally your choice. My suggestion is to give Stretch X a try, see if it helps and then go from there. You can always do half the workout or whatever you want.
What is the cost of P90X?
You can have access to all 3 P90X’s and all of Tony Horton’s Workouts with Beachbody On Demand for $119.88 a year. (Not to mentions the 100’s of other workouts you will have access to.) Considering I paid $119.88 for each P90X program separately, this is a steal.
Is P90X Low Impact?
Short answer is no but you can modify everything. I’ve had people who could do 0 full push ups to start only to finish the program doing 30+ push ups. Do what you can and don’t risk injury.
Do I need equipment to do P90X?
You will need a set of dumbbell and a pull up bar to really utilize the program. It can also be done with resistance bands but I would suggest the dumbbells.
Is there a 30 minute version of P90X?
The closest thing to a 30 minute version would be P90X 3. All of the workouts are 30 minutes and this program is also amazing. If you are really crunched for time you can start here. You do not need to do P90X Classic first. P90X 3 is also available on Beachbody On Demand.
Did you know that you could have access to P90X and all of Tony Horton’s workouts right now including P90X, P90X2, P90X3, all of the P90X One on One’s, P90, 10 Minute Trainer, 22 Minute Hard Corp. Just grab yourself a Beachbody On Demand Membership to get started today!
Keep in mind that the time of each one of these workouts includes a warm up and stretch and a cool down and stretch.

I love Yoga but it is a killer and the 1.5 hours looks so long when you start!!!
I hear that. I hated it at first, probably because my body didn’t bend the way it was supposed to. I enjoy it now as it did get easier with time.
Did Yoga.. Hated every second. Im 6’5″, top heavy, and the whole video was awkward for me. Im flexible and have good balance (former pitcher).. I dont know. Maybe it’s easier for shorter people
@Jonathan Trust me, it’s not easier for shorter people.. 🙂 Yoga preys on your weaknesses, that is why it is so tough. You will be surprised at how much better you will get at it by the end of these 90 days.
@Jonathan. Quit being an L-7 weinie and get over yourself. I’m 6’5 220 myself and actually put in the time and effort and now it is no longer a problem. Your lack of dedication and arrogance is more than likely the reason you are a “former pitcher”. Good luck to you bud.
@Josh. Quit being a douchebag bully who makes assumptions about things he knows nothing about.
I’ve done yoga randomly for a couple years now. Yoga x reminds me a lot of power yoga that is offered at mt local fitness center, it’s just a little more intense:). I definitely look foward to yoga x after a day of plyometrics. It feels great to stretch all of my very sore muscles. The first half of the routine is the hardest part for me, I hope to be a lot better at the end of my 90 days:D. I just love tony.
I just started doing P90X I’m 20 years old and know I’m not in the best shape I can be. I just feel like no results are going to be shown.
@Georgie If you just started the program I am not sure why you would feel like no results are going to be shown. I can almost guarantee results if you follow the workout guide and the P90X nutrition guide. Be sure to take your before pics and measurements so you can track your progress.
I opted to push a P90X/Insanity Hybrid routine. There is an awesome balance of calm with Tony vs. Intensity with Shaun T. The results? Well, I think they speak for themselves!
Start vs 45 days into this cycle (Yes, I know it will take more than one!):
(From TBB Site Info)
Weight: 330 -> 255
Waist: 48 -> 42
Hips : 51.5 -> 51
Chest: 54 -> 56
Right Arm: 16.2 -> 17
Left Arm: 16.5 -> 17
Right Thigh: 26.7 -> 27.5
Left Thigh: 26.5 -> 27.5
Body Fat %: 27.5 -> 24
Cholesterol: 47/132 -> 48/130
Blood Pressure: 133/88 -> 125/82
That’s 75 pounds in 45 days, increased energy, increased endurance, and going from struggling to kick forward up to my knee level to being able to kick over my head. (Yeah, I became a Beachbody Coach myself seeing those results! I can’t understand how people can’t be psyched over such a transformation!)
Results are summed up very nicely by something Henry Ford said:
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.” — So believe in yourself, follow through, and reap the results of reforging your body into a BETTER you! 😉
@Wes That’s awesome…. Great results!!!
Yoga isn’t as hard for me now as it was back then, I did it recently after not doing p90x for 6 or 7 months and it passed by pretty fast, still getting the hang of CRANE. although the day after I do stretch my body feels amazing
