1. Q: I am not in great shape, can I do P90X? A: You should at least have some sore of base before attempting P90X. If you haven’t work out in 10 years I would not recommend starting here since you will probably get frustrated. Power 90 is a great place to start which leads up to P90X.
2. Q: I can’t do any pull ups, can I still do P90X? A: Yes, Tony Horton shows you how to do modified pull ups with a chair until you have the strength to do full pull ups. You could also use the resistance bands.
3: Q: How much space do I need to do P90X? A: P90X can be done in a bedroom if need be so you do not need too much space.
4. Q: Beside ordering P90X, what other equipment will I need, if any? A: You will need some dumbbells or resistance bands, a pull up bar(unless using the bands from a door), a mat(or a carpeted area for Yoga X and and a few floor exercises), will and desire to get in the best shape of your life and the ability to change your eating habits.
5. Q: Where can I buy P90X? A: <—-Read this post or simply go here: P90X Exercise
6. Q: Will I be sore from p90X? A: Most likely yes, I was in pretty good shape when I started P90X but I still got sore. You will probably be doing a lot of movements that you have never done before.
7. Q: How much weight can I lose? A: Everyone is different and P90X is not a weight loss program but it will burn fat and build muscle which is key in weight loss. Depending on how hard you work your results will vary. I am in the best shape of my life because of P90X.
8: Q: What if I don’t like it? A: Simple, Beachbody has a money back guarantee on every product available. You can return it for a full refund, less shipping.
9. Q: Does P90X come with a menu guide? A: Yes, P90X comes with a detailed P90X nutrition plan to help maximize your results.
10. Q: How long are the work outs? A: Usually about an hour. P90X Yoga X is 1 1/2 hours and 3 times a week you need an extra 15 mins for Ab Ripper X.
11. Q: Is P90X for women? A: Absolutely, women have great results with P90X.
12. Q: I have had injuries, can I do P90x? A: Always consult with your doctor before starting any exercise plan. Then, I recommend that if something hurts you, that you don’t do that exercise. I had back surgery about 7 years ago and I still do P90X. I skip only 3 moves out of 12 DVD’s. You can read more about it at P90X and back pain. Over all gains helped my body to resist injury since you are working every muscle head to toe.
13. Q: Is P90X found in stores? A: No.
14. Q: Are there coupons for P90X? A: No, but you can save 25% by becoming a Beachbody coach.
15. Q: Is P90X high impact? A: I would say no, but P90X Plyometrics is jump training so you will be leaving the ground. There are modified moves for those who want even lower impact.
16. Q: Can I download P90X? A: Get in all on BOD.
17. Q: Do I have to do P90X Yoga X? A: Steve Edwards says. “When a form of exercise has had over 3,000 years to evolve, it tends to be highly effective. It increases strength, balance, and flexibility in a way that no other exercise can. A lot of people write in to ask if they can replace it with stretching, but it’s just not the same thing. Stretching does little, if anything, for strength and balance. I know yoga can be hard, but if you stick it out, it’ll pay off. If you don’t believe me, here’s what Kareem Abdul-Jabbar told Time magazine about the longevity of his basketball career: “My friends and teammates think I made a deal with the devil. But it was yoga that made my training complete. There is no way I could have played as long as I did without yoga.”
18. Q: Can I run while doing P90X? A: This is a post in itself but I would say yes and I know people that do, just not on plyo or P90X legs and back day.
19. Q: Will P90X help with baseball? A: I feel P90X will enhance any sport you perform.

I am on week two of P90X and I am running out of energy while working out. It is like I am fighting my body just to work out. Is this normal?
Hi Steve, feeling this way is quite common in the first phase and it lets me know that you are sticking to the nutrition plan. You are in Phase one and only getting 1 carb a day so this could be why you are feeling so tired. You could try 2 things. Add in an extra carb and maybe a few more calories or try doing your workouts at a different time or do both. Hope this helps and if so let us know. Keep pressing play!!
Hi Jeff. I finished my P90X and decided to order P90X Plus which is currently on the way. I was also looking into the One on One with Tony Horton discs. I’m strongly considering ordering that as well, but I can’t find any info on the length of the workouts in that program. Most of the P90X workouts are about an hour. Do you know how long the One on One workouts are? Because a big factor for me is the length of the workouts.
One of the hardest parts about P90X was the length of the workouts. 1 hour doesn’t sound like a lot, but sometimes it’s hard to find time. If the One one One workouts are just as intense as the P90X ones except a bit shorter, then I’d definitely consider buying them. My sister has 10 minute trainer and I’ve tried that for when I’m short on time, but as a P90X grad, I need something even more intense.
I’m also curious as to how I would incorporate the One one One workouts into my P90X schedule. Which discs would substitute which workouts? Thanks for your help!
Hi Anthony. The One on one workouts very every month but on average I would say to expect about 50 minutes plus or minus 10 minutes. I know the Ab workout is less than 30 mins. He does talk in some some quite a bit so you can shave some mins by hitting fast forward through those chatting parts. Overall they are good workouts. Might be a little more laid back than the actual P90X workouts but they provide great variety. You might want to order 1 or 2 that sound good and see what you think. Remember, Beachbody has a money back guarantee on everything so if you don’t like them you can send them back.
You can incorporate in any way you like depending on what your goals are. If you are looking to mix it up these will definitely help. Once you have enough videos you can put together your own custom schedule. A lot of people are currently doing a P90X/Insanity hybrid and we will be putting one together soon.
Hey Jeff. Thanks! I think I’m going to pick up a few of the 1-on-1 discs and see if I can incorporate them into my P90X routine. Incorporating Insanity into it sounds like a good idea as well. Thanks again for your help. Keep up the great work on the site!
No problem Anthony. Grabbing a couple discs is the right thing to do. That way you can see how you like them. Be sure to let us know how it goes and if you put together a good routine be sure to share it with us.
I started px90 i am on my 5th week but i realy havent seen any reslots
Will p90x help me gain weight if I eat a lot and take some supplements?
Will p90x help me gain weight if I eat a lot and take supplements?
Yes you could gain weight with P90X. You will be building a lot of muscle and that weighs more than fat so you could gain weight that way. If you eat more lean meats during the program that should help as well. You can always add more lean protein to the P90X nutrition plan if you are looking to gain.
Are you doing the lean or classic version? Are you following the nutrition plan?
Hi Jeff. I started the P90X Lean workout plan but noticed the plyometrics dvd isn’t included with this particular workout plan. I’m primarily looking to lose weight and then tone. Which workout plan do you suggest for me?
Hi Lisa. I always recommend doing the classic version. Plyo is one of those great workouts that you don’t do in the lean version. I say go for the classic version but just modify the moves if you have to. You will be blown away with the results you will get from just dumbbells and a pull up bar or resistance bands.
can I double up on workouts and do p90x everyother day?
Hi Kristy,
You might not be able to keep up that pace for 90 days also your intensity level for the second workout might be lower depending on where you stand physically right now. I have had people double up before but not for the full 90 days. In the doubles version you also add a cardio workout 3 times a week in addition to the regular P90X workouts so depending on your fitness level you might be able to see some good results from doing P90X that way. If you find yourself feeling wiped out then you might want to go back to 1 a day.
I’m looking to purchase 90px for my husband and myself. I’M 44 HAVE ABOUT 150LBS TO LOOSE. I want to bulid lean muscle while loosing weight but not sure if this is the right program for me. I’m also concern about the food plan, we want to change for the better but only with using “REAL FOOD”.
Thanking and looking forward to your reply.
This depends on your current fitness level. If it has been a long time since you have worked out then I would not suggest jumping right in to P90X. The last thing you want to do is get frustrated when you start a new work out program. There are modified moves in P90X but it is not for an absolute beginner. You might want to take a look at Power 90- http://teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/Power90?referringRepId=13165
This is a pre- P90X work out program that will help you get ready for P90X. There are also other programs like Turbo Jam, Hip Hop Abs and many more to help get you started. If you would like to talk just use the “booknow” button at the top right of this page and put in a time you would like me to give you a ring. Then we can talk in a little more detail about what your goals are and what program would be best for you. Shakeology is also a great program for beginners as well.
You have a lot of good advice and tips. Maybe you can help me with a problem I have. My exercise area is in a room with very flimsy walls and doors. This means I can not install anything for pull ups. If I do, I am more likely to get the band shot into my face or have the wall pulled out than build any muscle. Do you have any suggestions for alternatives for pullups during the videos? I have heard about bent-over rows and push ups, but is that all that I can do to work the same muscles? The parks in my area are all designed for little preschoolers, and besides, going to the park during a video routine is not really feasible….
Thanks!
HI, I have been doing p90x for two months now. I am not really seeing a difference is this normal?? The scale has not moved either but I know you cannot pay attention to the scale while doing this program cause you building muscle. I am doing the classic version after my 90 days is up I think I will do the lean. Would this help to do the program again?
Hi Brandi. My first question is did you take your before pictures and measurements? My second question is are you following the P90X nutrition plan? Also, where are you starting from? Are you in good shape, average shape or below average? Are you trying to lose weight and how much?
Hi Jeff. I did not take before pics or measurements. I did follow the nutrition plan the first month. Then after the first month I still followed it just not exact. I am in average shape I have workout before at home and at gyms. First time with the p90x. I can keep up with it good except the pullups. I would like to lose weight about 20 lbs and tone up. I can tell in my arms just not my female problem areas lower tummy and hips. Should I be doing the lean version to burn more fat. I am not overweight just have a couple problem areas that I mention. Thanks for you time and answers.
Hi Brandi. I would stick with the classic version since it sounds like you are in pretty good shape. I feel lean is a little less challenging but tweaking P90X a little bit might help you out. Check out Lose Weight With P90X for some things you can change. Remember, your tummy will be the last area to go and it is the toughest to get rid of but if you stick with it it will come.
Hello there.. I’m male, 6’0, 195 pounds and have been going to the gym for a while now (about 3 – 4 times a week & doing my regular routines plus running like 3km every day I go to the gym). My question is, I want to start the P90X program but I dont want to quit going to my gym.. Can I do both? could it be risky?? I’m waiting for your answer.. thanks!!
Hi William. The one thing you do not want to do is over train. This will do more harm the good. You can customize P90X to meet your needs. You can see how to customize P90X with running here https://www.decidetostayfit.com/customize-p90x-with-running
So to answer your question, yes you could probably do both but you will have to make some cut backs some where. I would start with P90X for 2 weeks and then see what you can fit it with it. I don’t think you will need much though.
hi jeff i was wondering which version of p90x is best. im 5’6 about 183 lbs. and ALL of my body fat is on my stomach, love handles and man boobs. i have 24.5% body fat.another question i already tried plyo and i’m sore for like about 3 days. im waiting for my recovery formula to come in. can you tell me anything else i can do aboout the soreness, because that’s what keeping me from doing it. i would appreciate it if you wrote back:]
@Daniel I would say to stick with the classic plan it is tough but it is worth it. Also, be sure to stick to the nutrition plan. This is very important as well. P90X will definitely get rid of some of that fat but remember that the belly fat is usually the last to go. Your soreness should start to go away after the 3rd time you do it. Don’t feel bad, everyone is sore after Plyo. I would suggest some Motrin and a hot shower to help you push through it.
hey jeff im thinking about getting shakeology just to try it out. how should i incoperate it in my eating. ex.should i take one as a meal rplacement or just a snack. and if i do take as a meal should i add more stuff to it. like fruits.
I am sending you an email Daniel to the address you used.
me and my friend are 16, will p90x have an effect on use??? also if we dont take the supplements will we get results?
Yes, Xavier. You should see some great results with P90X. What are your goals? Taking supplements is not mandatory but they do help with recovery and energy.
umm now we do insanity with p90x our goals are to get ripped and get some sexy girls in the summers time!!! 😀
Hello, I have been on p90x for about a month now, have seen good results so far, but must admit I cheated on the diet a coupel of times. I am about to enter phase 2. Mu question is should I stay on the fat shredder for one more week considering the cheat days or just go on with the program?
Don’t feel bad Chris, we all slip up from time to time. The key is to NOT make slipping up a habit. If you are not feeling too tired or lacking any energy then you could extend the fat shredder another week if you want to.
Hey! I have a very petite frame. (5’4″ 105 lbs) I pretty much eat whatever I want, when I want and never gain weight. Although, I try to eat healthy. So, I obviously don’t want to lose weight. I was wondering if the diet plan along with this can be altered to GAIN weight or if I should just workout without altering my diet too much… thanks!
@ Sarah I think you will find that you will be eating a lot more than you are used to with the P90X nutrition plan. Once you do your calculations you will see what I am talking about. To answer your question, yes, you can tweak the plan to gain weight. You can always make your portion sizes a little larger or add in another snack to get some extra calories. I always suggest following the nutrition guide for at least the first 90 days and then you can go from there.
Hi there !
I have some bruised tissue on and around my coccyx after doing Ab Ripper, due to upper body and legs being up in the air. Am I doing something wrong or do I just have to develop some hard skin around that area? Because I am new to it, I might have done it for a bit too long, practicing certain exercises a few times over.
Thanks
Daniela
Try and put a mat underneath you. That should help. Some people are more sensitive there.
Hi Jeff. I’ve ordered PX90 and I am waiting by the door for it as I write (I’m in the UK).
I am worried about the nutrition plan. I am a very very fussy eater. More of a egg and chips man. I don’t like most veggies, tomatoes, onions, garlic, etc.
I really want this to work and I will dedicate my time to it but my diet is really limited.
Any tips how I can get around this.
PS- I like a few beers at the weekend too.
Cheers,
Lee (UK)
@Lee The better you eat the better your results will be. Best thing to do will be to review the nutrition plan when you get your package and then go from there. Your best bet will probably be to use the portion approach. I like a few beers too but I know I could get even better results with out the beer. Since I am not looking for perfection I still drink my beer but you will have better results if you give up the alcohol.
Still haven’t received my order after 2 weeks and nobody answers emails. People of the UK be careful, I think THIS IS A SCAM !!!!!!!!
@Lee That’s pretty funny Lee. Out of the millions sold you might be the first person to call p90X a scam. In any event, the best thing for you to do would be to call Beachbody at 1-800-998-1681 since your order was international. If you were in the US you could have just ordered from right here on my site https://www.decidetostayfit.com/p90x . Hopefully you did not order from a pirated website selling copies.
Jeff,
Is it alright to skip legs and back if I will be playing in a football game the next day? I am torn, but I know if I do legs and back I will be too sore to play the next day. If I skip my rest day, I can go to Kenpo the day after football and then continue on. Thoughts? Thanks.
@Ben If you are going to skip one before football I would skip Kenpo X and do Legs and Back on that day instead. You are getting quite the work out during football if you are a starter so be sure not to over train. You always want to have enough left in the tank for game day!!!
Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the tips. I just started P90X recently and I love it so far. I have been working out for about 6 years, but nothing like this! The workouts are incredible and the mental aspect of P90X is impressive as well. Thanks again.
@Ben Awesome!!! Keep pressing play every day!!! It will keep getting better and better.
Thanks Jeff, that’s my hope!!
Hi Jeff,
I just began phase 2 (week 5) of P90X last night. I was wondering if you could help me out with a dilemma I have this week…
Would it be alright to switch my yoga and kenpo days this week? My yoga day this week falls on a day that I do not have enough time to complete the workout, so I was wondering if I could switch kenpo to that day (as it is nearly 40 minutes shorter) and then do the yoga routine on day 6 (normally kenpo x day)?
Thanks
@Ben Sure Ben…. That will work out fine. Keep “Bring It”!!!!
Thanks Jeff! I am hooked for sure! I have been able to take my training to a whole new level with the program and I also shed 12 pounds in the first 4 weeks coupled with good nutrition.
I feel leaner and faster already!
Thanks again for the continued help. Bring it!
@Ben 12 lbs???? Awesome!!!!!! Be sure to check back and let us know how things are going!!!!
Will do for sure! Thanks again for the continued help and support!
Hi Jeff,
I am wrapping up week 7 this weekend and I am down 16lbs from my starting weight (215 down to 199 as of last weekend. Would you say this is a normal pace for where I am at in the program? I know it is different for everyone. I started the program with the intent to become more defined and to lose a bit of weight around the midsection. So far it is going well as I am about to enter the home stretch of the program.
Thanks for the continued help and support!
@Ben There really is no normal pace (weight loss) but you are doing awesome!! 16 pounds in 7 weeks is great. Be sure to really “Bring It” in this last phase!!!! And if you haven’t yet be sure to get your free account at https://www.decidetostayfit.com/go/free/
Great, thanks Jeff!
Hey Jeff,
Just wanted to let you know I am on my final rest week of the P90X program and I am so happy with the results!
Overall, I lost about 18 pounds but have increased my muscle tone, strength, balance, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. I feel great all around and have taken my training to a whole new level.
I think I will take the summer to get back to more weight lifting routines and maybe incorporate the Plyo X workout once a week, and then start up another round of P90X in the Fall.
Thanks to you and the rest of Beachbody for the continued support!
@Ben That is awesome Ben!!! Sounds like you had great results. Have you ever considered P90X2 or Insanity?? Feel free to give me a ring to talk about what could be next or if you find yourself talking about your work outs with others and would like to turn your fitness into a business.
Thanks Jeff. I will definitely be looking into P90x too and, possibly, a future endeavor with Beachbody. Either way I will be sure to remain in contact with you and keep you updated on where I am at!
Thanks again!

Should you max out at 8 to 10 reps for leg exercises that have you using weights as well?
@bblao Depends on what your goals are. Are you looking for size or looking to get lean and tone up?
looking more to tone up for my legs and get more size for my arms.
@bblao I would do 8-12 reps of heavier weight in you arms and 12 -15 reps in your legs.
Hi i was wondering which altered p90x plan is better for me. My goal is to gain mass
Sunday – Off

Thursday – Off

@Nick I like your 2nd option better and you also have to get in Back and Biceps and Chest, Shoulders and Tri’s. If you are looking to add mass you also might want to check out https://www.decidetostayfit.com/store-home/body-beast
I thought the 2nd plan would not work as well as the 1st one because your only working out 3 days a week and how am i going to bulk up and gain mass with the 2nd plan VS. the 1st one?
@Nick Your muscles grow at rest. With out rest you will do more damage than good.
Lo DVD se pueden oir en Español, no hablo ingles, que precio tiene enviarlo a España
