What to do if I Miss My P90X Work Out
What should you do if you miss a P90X work out?
–Breaking news: You can now “try” P90X FREE for 30 days with our Beachbody On Demand. You will also get the P90X Nutrition Guide as well. You will also have access to other workouts like P90X, Insanity, TurboFire, Brazil Butt Lift, T25, 21 Day Fix Extreme, P90X One on One’s and many others. (great value)–
I often get this question from people who think all is lost because they have missed one of their P90X work outs. Well I am here to tell you, don’t sweat it. Life happens and life will happen. Don’t get me wrong, don’t try and make cheesy excuses why you can’t work out today. You have made a commitment to 90 days with P90X and to get the best results you are going to have to stick to that plan. If something comes up and you absolutely can not make your work out then here is a good rule of thumb that has worked for me and others. If you miss 1 work out try and make it up on your rest day, if you can’t then don’t worry about it but try not to make a habit of it. If you miss 2 work outs for the week then repeat that week. This simple formula has worked well for myself and many others and I am sure it will work for you too. Also, you will be getting in some extra work outs since you will be repeating a week which could also help with your results.
Remember, P90X is not just some silly work out plan. You are also making a mental commitment for 90 days to stick with the work outs and to stick to the P90X nutrition plan. Don’t let one little hiccup stop you from moving forward in your progress. If you fall of the horse you have to get up and get right back on. Need some help? Feel free to send me and email and let me know how it’s going.
Hey,
Could you, PLEASE, give me some pain-related advice? I’m in my 6th week of p90x (which i’ll repeat, because i’ve already missed two workouts), and i’m experiencing horrible knee pain, right under the kneecaps.
When i started p90x, i’d been doing spinning for 3 months, and for one more month, i did both. The pains started about 3 weeks ago, when i quit spinning.
But 3 weeks later, they’re still here, i can barely go through a plyo (even if modified) or kenpo routine. What should i do? I really don’t want to quit p90x, and i’ve been thinking about starting insanity when i’m done here.
Please, help me out!
Thank you,
corina
@Corina If you are experiencing horrible pain then you need to stop and go and see a doctor. You need to find out what’s going on.
hey if i miss a day of p90x (plyo for eg) can i double up the next day? e.g do plyo and shoulder and arms but one right after the other or one hr apart? i work during the day i’m doing p90x classic
@Jarrel Don’t sweat it if you miss a day here or there. I have doubled up before and sometimes it works and sometimes I don’t have enough energy in the 2nd workout to really “Bring It.” So see how you feel and go from there.
Hry thanks. Also I am now done with week 12. What do do u recommend afterwards if i want size?
@Jarrel You could continue on with P90X and up your weight and lower your reps and maybe add in some more calories or you could move on to a program like this https://www.decidetostayfit.com/store-home/body-beast
Thanks so much! i am now done with p90c classic (what a great workout man)but i confess that i couldnt afford heavier weights so right through the program i used 20 lbs (doing more than the required 8-10 reps) and i had bands as well. would u say that was effective? Thanks so much for the advice
@Jarrel Yes using lighter weight if effective but if you want some size you will need some heavier weights. You should shoot for about 8 reps of heavier weight.
hi i realised that p90x relies alot on body weight (alot of push ups/pull ups/ side tri rises) is this better than say bench presses?
@Jarrel Depends on what your goals are. Push ups and tri rises are great but if your goal is size then you will have to hit the bench with some heavy weight too. Pull ups work different muscles.
